Not much to do if the male and female are seperate.

Yes, nestbox and lots of hay for her. Keep and eye on her but don't harass her too much. You will need to be around if she kindles incase she nisses her nest box.

Having said that, I just wondered if it is too late for a nest box and if that might unsettle and distress her. If she is pulling fur then it is either phantom or very real and possibly imminent. I guess a breeder will know more, so this is a bit of a pointless reply, sorry.

They have been together twice since they were separated? What are her windows for kindling? As in, what is 28-34 days from the first time, and 28-34 days from the second?

Provide her with lots of hay or straw to build a nest with.

Also give her some sort of box to build the nest in. If she starts building it outside the box, pick up the nest and put her nest in the box, and move the box to where she was building the nest. You may have to do this quite a few times until she gets it or she may still give birth to the kits outside the box. In that case, you need to move the nest with the babies in it to the box after she gave birth.

All you can do now is give her everything she needs, and let her do the rest. Check on her regularly to make sure she's not having any difficulties, but try to not stress her out too much.

She'll probably give birth when no one is around or in the middle of the night. So make sure you check first thing in the morning for babies.

Make sure all the babies are warm, if they are cold you can hold them against your body to help warm them up. Some breeders will stick a baby in their bras to warm them up.

Once all the babies are warm, make sure the nest is in the box and that they are covered with a nice layer of fur. Also make sure there are no dead babies or left over pieces of placenta in the nest.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes. Ask as many questions as you need to.

i cant really.. lol my hand.
i read up before i got any rabbits about babies, only abit. i looked at pauls thread aswell.
i cant really tink of any at the moment. questions i mean.... um, do i increase her feed?
she digs in it, ansd trashs her cage and any thing in it. like, spills food, digs in litter box.. ect. is that her hormones. digging in food bowl is ment to be a sign????

I think you got quite good advice so far. Just try and stay calm and only check if necessary rather than fussing around her.

I actually have a question about the placenta? Do rabbits eat it? Should they?
And i like the idea about sticking the babies in your bra:)

Yeh, they should eat the placenta from the healthy babies I believe. Often they will leave them from the dead babies though (in my experience).

As Flashy said, most mom's will eat the placenta. They will try to clean up as much of "the mess" as they can.

I agree with Dawn, give her what she needs and wait. Encourage her to make a nest in the box, but if not, after she is done, put the babies and nest in the box. She will NOT reject the babies just because you touch them.

How is your face? Black and Blue? Get a black eye? I hope it isn't too bad.

eye. black. tinge of yellow.

humugous bumb. its a montion on elena.

area blue/yellow. but im ok.

Hey Elena, I got your PM. It might be that this is a false pregnancy because that would be about the right timing, for making a nest and pulling fur. Normally they pull fur only shortly before kindling.

I hope it is a false pregnancy and there is nothing else going on since your parents are hesitant about bringing her to the vet, kind of weird the way she had a false pregnancy around the time she was supposed to be due though.

How is she acting now irishlops? Is she still arranging the nest and pulling fur or is she ignoring it now and acting normal?

is is ignoring it a bit... but not "normal" it is a bit of a mess now.
she is eatting a bit more

Ya it does sound like a false pregnanct, althought it's funny the way she had it around the same time she was ment to have babies.

i know. she is due on the 10th of feb. it is strange. i bet she was planing this lol
