Oils?

Hello,
I need help choosing an oil I can use for my squeaky door that is safe for rabbits.
I read that I can use cooking oil for it also motor oil but no way I’m going to use that.
What’s the safest option?

I'm not totally sure but something like olive oil or other vegetable oil should be okay I guess. It's fattening, obviously, but you'd be using hardly any and your rabbits wouldn't be able to get much at all so I expect it should be fine.

Hi, cooking oil sounds like better option to me since it is food grade oil. You don't use a lot of it anyway and you remove excess of it after a few minutes as well so I don't think it should be a problem.

It really doesn't matter, any mineral oil will do. Just use it sparingly. I use Ballistol a lot, it's food safe, but any quite clean mineral oil will do, like that for sewing machines.

Vegetable oils can attract the rabbits, and it can get rancid or hard over time, not a good choice for mechanical stuff.
