Thanks everyone!!
It's been a rough few days, but hoping it starts to get better soon.
Funny about the stuffed animals...Jessica has an old tiger that wenamed "Spot" that sheknows is my fav of all of her stuffed. She brought him to the hospital so he could keep me company. She's sucha good kid. She also bought me a new Beanie Bunnie !
It's going to take a while to get back up to speed. The incision isabout 8 inches long down thw middle of my back. I have to weararigid back brace that goes from my chest down to my tushie.I also have an electronic simulator that I have to wear. It's supposedto help the bone fuse together. Everything is on for at least 6-8 weeks.
I can take off all of the dressings in 5 days and then in 3 weeks I gofor xray to check the fusion progress. Oh the fun of it all.
Not enough pain meds, but I'm finding ways to get by. Heat, ice, tylenol, ans just plainresting anre the best I can do now.
I'm getting around pretty well and am able to do a lot for myself now.Renee bought me one of those "grabbie-thingies" so I can pick up stuffwithout bending over. It works GREAT!. I can even pick up the bunniefood bowls with it. I was even able to put hay in the bottom cages withit. The bunnies are so happy I'm back and caring for them. They gavethe fam such a hard time with dumping food bowls that weren't placed inthe right way, empting out their litter pans cuz they weren't change atthe right time, etc. silly buns!!
Well, gotta keep it short as the chair for the PC is not the best for me.
Thanks again
~Jim
