How much? How often?

Any drawbacks?

I'm planning to use it on Summer who can't maintain her weight, very much due to suspected cancer (we didn't get the biopsy of her tumour done because it wouldn't have made a difference either way). She's roughly 2-2.3kg, and a dwarf lop.

I feel priviliedged to have Nutrical and be in the UK :D Thanks Flick :D (who was the one who found it over here).

I give about a pea sized amount daily for sick rabbits.

If she doesn't take it willingly (licking off of paw), you might need to try something else. I use flax seeds and sunflower seeds to keep Fey's weight up. They have the healthy type of fats.

So sorry to hear about her cancer. I hope it's benign and doesn't bother her!

I don't know about the dosage but also wanted to send good vibes to your Summer.

Thank you :)

She had her tumour removed back in January and her blood tests showed that she was struggling with some degree of liver failure, which the vet believed to be that the cancer had spread, however, it may be unrelated.

She became mine that day (she was a foster until then), so she will live out her days here, very happy.

She does get oats, but they give her excess cecals. I haven't yet tried sunflower seeds with her, but every other bun spits them out in disgust, lol.

Thanks for the replies :)

If she is having trouble maintaining weight, you can give it to her (pea sized amount) twice a day. I've used it as often as 3 times a day in extreme cases.

The only drawback I've seenis her droppings may get smaller and darker. I've never seeen any health concern drawbacks.

It works very well in keeping up their strength. Hugs to her and you...

I adpoted a Netherland bunny. I've hadSassy a few weeks. I've just gotten close enough to her to hold her long enough to notice some dry flaky skin between her shoulder blades. Does anyone have an idea what this might be? Her hair is fine. No missing hair. She does groom alot, but I don't know if rabbit do that anyways. This is my first bunny. I'm clueless. Should I be worried?

SweetSassy, your question is going to "get lost" attached to this thread... start you own thread with the question, so Infirmary Mods and others will see it faster and be able to respond to your question...

Most likely fur mites. A tiny amount of kitten flea powder should clear it up. In a rare case of neurological reaction to the medication, wash it off immediately.

As already mentioned, it's a good idea to start a new thread if you have a question unrelated to the posted topic so you'll receive more of a response to your question.

Welcome! :welcome1 Hope you like hanging out here!

The other trick to giving Nutrical is the put it ON the TOP of their paw (not on the bottom). They can't stand having gunk on their feet so they lick it off. When I put it on the bottom of their paws, they just run around and I get nutrical pawprints through my house.

Just watch out for flying gunk when they try to flick it off their paws. :)

Yeah, if they are willing to clean it off themselves! I prefer to give it right to the side of their mouth. I'm a little more sure of the dosage and what they actually ate. LOL! That "flicking" can send it everywhere except in their mouth!
