If anyone knows of rescues, shelters for buns or just something to do with them where people help is needed...please drop a line here and let me know :)

New Hope Animal Hospital - Durham nc

Some info-
Neuters are 90 and Spays start she said at 145.
LOTS better prices than ANYONE else in the area so far. I looked the vet up on the web some. She has rescues herself, has good reviews from people etc. Her name is Kay Bishop. I have talked with her some through email and I have gotten a good vibe from her so far. (this info dates back like almost 2 years now however)

I think she has great prices, good vet!

Wow! Thank you! This is really good to know. I asked around out here when I moved and found a vet that was really pricey (Im talking about $300-$400+ for spay/neuter!). I need to get my two taken care of and we dont have a ton of money to throw around just yet (seeing as how we just moved out here).

Thanks a bunch, going to check them out this weekend!!

You are welcome...I know I was disturbed by what the local Raleigh vets wanted. The prices may have gone up by now but I still think she is a good vet. If she were closer I would have every animal I own seen by her...but for the distance....Avain and Exotic are good as well just more money for most things.

A&E has boarding which I like. Requires a fecal and exam if you want to board which is a little annoying seeing as they requre another physical when you bring them in to board but hey....

Welcome to Raleigh...I hope you like it here!

Should you ever need something or a question about the area...feel free to ask :) Been here about 4 years now.

Also...Dixie Trail Animal Hospital.....I would stay away from...I did not like the vet, no one seemed to know what they were doing and told me my first bun Simon was just fine when he was anything but...we ended up at Avian & Exotic and well it was worth the money.
I would not use any other vet in this area but them and Kay Bishop at New Hope Animal....(Personal opinion of course)

A&E was actually one of the ones that I called and got the prices. We, of course, were willing to pay, it just would mean waiting quite a while to get the money for both the boy and girl to get done. It looks like its only about 30 or so minutes away so that would be perfect. We lived on Long Island before we moved here, had to drive nearly an hour each way to get to our old vet, there was only one that was a really good vet in Suffolk County.

Thanks a bunch for the help! Im sure I will have some questions down the line. :) Im in North Raleigh right now, my husband and I plan on staying in the Raleigh/Durham/RTP area for a good 15+ years so it will be nice to find some good vets to settle in with! Thanks again!

That happened once with one of my late rabbits. It was a good thing we noticed in time that she was actually still sick and took her to a different vet, ended up getting to spend another happy year with her before she passed.

Yeah...I actually have the list/prices for an A&E nueter...in the beginning of Simon's blog. My eyes went wide at those prices. I was glad to find New Hope....

Long Island huh? lol...An all over-ny'r here :)

rockland, orange, ulster, otsego etc etc etc

I can not see myself moving soon...I like being so close to the beach...I live inside 440, quite close to downtown...

They have ice skating for the next month down there,..just an fyi...

Summer is lots of fun with the free downtown live concert series. I took my daughter to see Joan Jett last year...We loved it.
