Just imagine the unsuspecting person that gets those unfixed rats.

I see that all the time on Craigslist, Amanda :?...it is so sad....poor ratties!


Anyway.....little Chewie bit my pointer finger this morning. Blood was dripping...I was freaking....crying.....blaaaah. I'll have to take a picture of my bite wound tomorrow...it is all bruised and nasty

, ugh.

Ah, well. He just didn't want me putzing around near him!

lol....guess no one is following this thread anymore? No one commented on how adorable my fosters are and how sorry they feel for my finger that got bitten .

Anyway, the bruising on my finger went away. It is still soar, but I think I will live. Ugh, I never want to be bit by a rattie again. I have NEVER been bit before. It's very rare...you are more likely to be bit by a hamster than a rattie.

Gosh Amy..i know how hard those rat's can bite....when we had our rat's...Poppy had bitten me by mistake one day when i went to take them out of their cage so they could have their free run in the kid's room....well i had a band aid on my finger because i had cut it earlier when i was chopping up the veggie's for tea...and i very rarely wear band aid's...i hate them on me..but i had to put one on this day...and as i went to reach for Poppy..she pounced on my sore finger and bit the band aid and made my sore bleed,i had never been bitten by the rat's before that day...Poppy was just attracted to the band aid...but gosh did i cry lol....but she was the most beautiful little girl though.

The ratties may have found a new home already, right here in Prescott. The kid is 21 years old, owns his own business, and is willing to join the rat forum. Miranda and I are going to check into him more to make sure he is legit because Chew is a biter and we can't have have him go to a home where the owner has no patience for a rattie like him. Miranda doesn't want the rats separated at all (Chew separated from the girlies), so finding the right home is a huge "must".

If the guy is super serious, I will be doing a home check and waiting it out a week...so he has time to think and not adopt them on a whim...there will be a higher adoption fee, as well.

I told Miranda I worry because someone who may seem loving and caring, might take the ratties....Chew bites.....they give Chew off as snake food...and keep the girlies.


This is going to be one tough adoption process with these rats, for sure. I am already attached to them, but I know I can't keep them.
