So Nigel's cage door was open and I didnt realize Biggie Max was out as I was feeding veggies. Being the treat monster he is, Biggie tried to go in Nigel's cage to eat his veggies and Nigel chased him out to attack him.

I know not to put my hand in the middle, but it was justinstinct. Nigel clamped down hard on my palm and wouldnt let go (he did this to Basil before on his leg). I literally had to lift him off the ground and shake a little to get him to release (again, I know it could have been handled better but it was a reaction).

So now I have a huge gash on my hand (its hard to type). It wasnt bad enough to go to the hospital but it was gushing blood :( :sigh:

Poor Haley. Bunnies seem to be ok though :wink

Until I realized that Bo was smelling Heidi on me even after several hours since I held her - I was being bitten quite regularly - that and his tummy issueswere the cause I guess.

He doesn't usually bite hard enough to make me bleed - but he has - and I always bruise.... My shoulders were polka-dotted..... :p

Be sure to wash that really well - as clean as they are - they can cause you to get sick if it gets infected - just like any other animal - their mouths have germies!

Yeah Ive disinfected lots of times and just put some neosporin and a bandaid on it.

Dont know how Im going to write notes in class tomorrow. Do you think the professor would like my excuse? :biggrin2:

About as well as a TRUE story my daughter had to go in and tell the teacher - her bunny ate her homework! :p

Of course he didn't eat it all so she had proof, but the teacher wasn't happy with the situation - that was when he was just a baby tho........ he wouldn't do it now....... we know not to leave stuff around LOL!

:( Sorry to hear you got in the middle of the bunny wars. Darn bunnies, can't they tell a hand from a bunny butt.

Ouch!

I've been on the receiving end of a charge, but a charge from a 4 pound bunny is just amusing. The only concern you have is for the bunny's head that just charged into you.

A bite that won't let go, yowza. I'm guessing by Biggie Max, you mean Max & Baz Max?

Biggie Max is Max 2.0, the foster boy. Hes about 9 lbs so we call him Biggie :biggrin2:

My hand still hurts. Its all bruised and nasty.

Oooh, I'm sorry, I can imagine how painful that would be! It is hard not to get in the middle though, it goes against instinct not to. If it is any comfort, you may have saved Max from having that deep bite, which would be pretty serious on a bunny! Hope your hand feels better.

Wow that must be painful :?I am sure I would have reacted the same way. Lol. Man, I was never bitten that hard. They can be vicious lil things when they want can't they? Sheesh!

Hope your hand heals quickly

It amazes me that these little fellas can really cause pain/injury.

I never really thought about bunny teeth - but there are people I know who FEAR rabbits!

I know it must hurt! I had to put a play tube over bo to get him away from Heidi one day!

I aggrivated Genelle earlier, trying to get her to settle so I could possibly clip her nails. She head butted my hand twice but I didn;t get the hint so she "bit" me very gently - enough to put pressure on me without breaking the skin. THAT woke me up.

I have yet to have a serious rabbit bite, but I had pet rats once and one bit me to the boneon the inside of my ring finger down by my hand. It hurt horribly and from then on I was very leary about rats.

You know the worst bite I have ever gotten was from a hamster! It literally took a chunk of meat out of my hand. Next would be a guinea pig and BO. He can really nip if he's ticked off. He bites me if he smells Heidi on me.
