is a pain in the tush :p. I am trying to rebuild all four bunny's cages today, to make better space of their room. I just got Morgan's done and I am tired, lol.

It's wierd how much you have to bend and twist your arms & body to attatch zip ties....while the bunny just sits there and looks at you like you are really odd.

Ugh, I probably have 4 more hours left of rebuilding :bunnydance:!

I just built my first one probably4 weeks ago. I had to rebuild it though. Originally I used the connectors and used a few zip ties. Then we tried to move it and it sorta fell apart (a few pieces came undone) so I got some coroplast about 3 weeks and I was trying to keep it standing and then replacing the connectors with zip ties. That didn't work. I had to demolish it and redo it. I started in the evening after work and then had to finish it the next day. Riley had to live in the hallway for the night as I didn't have the energy to finish it lol.

I love it though and so does she. It's really easy to build once you know how but I needed to learn how to do it. Hubby just laughs. It's so nice to clean too as I just can almost climb in there and wipe it down and there's somuch room.

I must have missed this thread before, but your bunny room looks awesome, Amy! It really looks great. And that's not even because we have the same good taste (I have the same linoleum tiles as you as my base and shelving)! Ha ha!

And I know how hard it is to "remodel." I did that this past weekend. Ugh, my aching fingers. And I can't tell you how many scratches I got trying to move the cages or get beneath them or get in them or...well, you get the point. Not fun. But oh so very worth it!

Hey Angela (or is it Jourdan posting?) :biggrin2:....I didn't use any ramps and my guys have no issues getting up onto the second level. I did have to use another NIC panel as a "step up" for Brody (my Holland)...as he is chubby and lazy :p.

Let me know if you want me to build you guys a NIC cage :). I am good at it, pretty quick, and can make it sturdy. It's a huge pain if it's your first time around and frustrating sometimes. I could atleast help you guys out with it and help with a design to fit Heff.

I roughly spent $35 per NIC cage for my three bunnies. If I bought cages from the pet store I would spent about $100 per cage...and they would be less then half the size of these NIC cages . Benson (my old foster), just has a simple little NIC pen because he is blind and an old guy with shakey legs :p.

Let me know if you'd like any help!

p.s...Hows that coffee creamer container working for Heff's pellets? I sent Jourdan home with it when I emptied it...first thought in my mind was, "Hrm, this would make a nice container for rabbit pellets"...then thought I would ask Jourdan if she had a container for his food :p.

amy - it's angella posting, jourdan was at work and i've pretty much taken over the RO addiction :D i spent hours on here earlier just reading stuff...my brain is gonna 'splode!
it's gonna be a little while before we can afford to build the cage - but hopefully i'll start working soon and we can properly spoil our Heffalump with a nice big cage :biggrin2:
the creamer container is wonderful! it works great for the pellets and is so much easier than the tupperware it was in before.
now if i could just get him to stop eating notecards :p he's actually been a great incentive to make sure all our paperwork is filed...that way he can't eat it!

Rabbits are nuts, huh? Give him a cardboard box or brown paper bags, he will love them :).

I am glad you enjoy the forum, there is much to read here! By the way, where are pictures of Heff :p?!

yay - we have plenty of cardboard...we'll have to give him some.
and there will be more pictures tomorrow night hopefully - the digital camera went on the blink and we can only get the pictures if we take it to walmart and transfer from the memory card to a cd, then from the cd to the computer. which we will try to do when jourdan gets off work tomorrow (feel free to "remind" her at work ;))

Haha....I'll tell her! I want to see him!

I told Jourdan today that she can adopt Benson (my old guy) anytime, hahahahaha. I think Heff being black and Benson being white and both lops is soooo cute. She said that you said...she can't have anymore bunnies :p. Ryan says I can't either, hehe.

Anyway, I have lots of carboard TP tubes and cardboard circles that our stickers come on from work to give to Jourdan, to give to Heff. I may have some other little toys. My dudes have way too many toys...I collect them from the Dollar Tree...best place for bunny toys!

yeah, we really shouldn't get any more bunnies...or anything actually...we have quite the collection as it is.
Heff doesn't seem to like paper towel or tp rolls...he's very selective about his cardboard it seems.
so far he likes his flavored cardboard tube (kinda), doesn't like his chewing sticks, loves his bird toy rattle and trying to throw around his big ceramic water bowl...luckily he hasn't been successful so far ;)
what kind of toys do you get from dollartree?
