Hi everyone, this is my first time in the bunny world.
My son wanted one for Easter/Birthday present and I caved in and since then I am in love. I was looking if long hair rabbits existed white with blue eyes and yes so now I am set on getting a nice pair for breeding. So I don't know where to go cause I am in Canada all the nice Jersey Woolies or English Angoras are all in the USA. Well specially Jersey Woolies I can't find any here White with Blue Eyes. Does anyone know where I could get a nice paid for breeding. Idealy it would be a buck and a few does...

We are located in Trois-Rivieres Quebec far far away from the rabbit lala land.

Everyone on this forum loves to see pictures of each other’s bunnies. So if you would like to post a picture this link will help you do that, Upload Photo's to Photo Gallery. Then in the post, you click on the "G" in the tool bar to insert your photo. Many people also use Photobucket. You just copy the img file and paste it into the post.

Don’t hesitate to ask questions and I am glad you have joined rabbits online; I look forward to seeing you around.

Actually my second bunny white baby girl died 3 weeks after we got her. I returned her body and the autopsy showed genetic desease and they will replace today. It was for my daughter's birthday but she didn't even live long enough to see that day. The good thing is she didn't dye cause of something I've done. I felt so guilty until then. I hope we can get another white one.

It is probably a blessing that she died of a genetic disease, if you planned on breeding her. That way that flaw wasn't continued on. You should contact your breeder so she can get in contact with all of the other adopters of that litter to warn them of this problem and urge tgem not to breed from that line as well.

Perhaps more research behind the pedigrees (if the prdigrees are not available that is not a line you want to continue. Welcome to the world of breeding) will lead to a better stock.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Welcom to RO and to the rabbit hobby! I love the wool breeds but never have the time to groom. Angoras are more invasive than woolies are so just be aware of how much attention their coats need especially in the show world

Yes it's good that she died even though we still miss her. the store replaced her so we have a new little whity home. We didn't really want to breed them we just wanted to enjoy a couple of bunnies and let them have babies eventually. But now we have 4... We got the angora I was looking for but I asked for a white and the lady sent me a blue point imagine the shock when I got her... she said she made a mistake and didn't have a white female so sent me the female she had... What a mess. Anyways I will be selling her (for what I paid for). Too bad.

Welcome!

It is not too difficult to get rabbits across the border, so if you can find some in the states that are near you, you might be able to arrange transport. Breeders to tend to go to shows often and will usually transport back for a small fee (can be $10-25 per rabbit depending on distance and stuff). It can be risky to use a transporter as you don't get to look at the rabbits before buying and some transporters are more reliable than others. Since there are many rabbits in close quarters from different people, disease can spread easily so it is good to quarantine from other rabbits once you get them (probably not a huge issue for you)

While I respect your ability to make your own decisions, may i ask why? If these babies came from a pet store, you have no idea what sort of genetic material that they could be passing down.

If you have children and would like them to have that experience (it seems to be a common reason) then maybe you could look into f fostering a pregnant female for a shelter or rescue near you. That way the population of unwanted rabbits stays down, less rabbits have to be put down, and you still get the experience of babies.

Just a thought.

In the meantime, I think you should start a bunny blog. I'd love to see those cute fuzzballs!
