I have guinea pigs, so it is somewhat similar.

So far I think;
Unlimited Tim. Hay
1/4 cup of pellets a day.
Salad once a week & small treats here and there.

Am I on the right track?
Tips? Suggestions?
I'm open to anything.

For; 2 female lionhead rabbits. 4 years old.
(PS; They live seperate)

be careful with the pellets. we were originally using the pellets we bought from the supermarket which were apparently really terrible and our vet described them as being "like french fries" for a bunny - ok as a treat but not good for every day.

she suggested getting the oxbow pellets - which are WAY more expensive but much better for a buns health :)

My guy gets salad broken into 2 servings a day normally. Everyone does salad different though so it's a matter of what works for your buns on that as long as the veggies/fruits are off the safe list of foods

They should get salad everyday. 1 to 1 1/2 cup per 5 lbs of bunny is a good amount.

I agree, be very careful with the treats and pellets. It's really easy to overfeed them, especially if the bunny loves food.

Also, if you ever introduce a new type of veggie or hay, take it really slowly. When I got my first bunny, I constantly made the mistake of introducing new veggies too quickly. I had no idea that that was why he kept getting bad gas.

Oh, and as a wonderful "treat" for them, not sure if you've heard about giving them Craisens? They freakin LOVE THEM!!:D Just a few at a time though, b/c of the sugar.;)

I agree, veggies daily is your best bet. If they're not used to them, work them in slowly so you don't overwhelm the digestive system.
1/4 cup might be too many pellets for a little lionhead. The type of pellet you're feeding also makes a difference though.
