My boy Dutch normally pees in a corner of his hutch. It's not the same corner as his litterbox, which I'm okay with. In the litter pan that slides under the hutch, i always put a pee pad down. That way, I can empty his tray once a week without a hassle. I also put a pee pad under the actual leg of the hutch because sometimes the pee drips.
PROBLEM:
Well, today, I was cleaning the hutches. I changed Dutch's pee pad INSIDE the hutch. I threw away the one under the leg of the hutch. During the 1/2 hour in which I did not put a "back up" pee pad under the leg of the hutch, Dutch's pee dripped onto the carpet. SO, I immediately changed the pee pad so he would not think it was a new spot to pee.
After 4 or 5 hours later of playing in his pen, I find that Dutch has been peeing in his "new spot". Is this because I didn't properly clean the pee spot and just covered it up with a new pee pad? Should i use some sort of carpet cleaner or urine cleaner that you get at pet stores?
Also, for future reference, does Bitter Apple or No-Go work for rabbits? I was thinking a product like that might be my last resort. Or maybe I could use rabbit deterrent in that one little spot?
(if anyone has trouble picturing my situation, I can post a picture if you ask.)
Thanks.
