Hello Everyone! I'm new :bunnydance: I have a white Rex, named Feichai. He's a sweet little devil. He has recently got on the plane and traveled all the way to asia with us. Feichai has adjusted to the new environment very well, and he's picking up some chinese, too. We are very pleased to find this forum!

I joined the group a couple weeks ago and have been busy reading the forum. What a great place this is.

... after spending a week traveling on vacation with Sparky, he became part of our family and that was it. He stayed. Never got to another home.

I look forward to reading more on the forum

Welcome, Bev and Sparky, and yeah, this is a great place, hope you stick around. :) And isn't it great discovering bunny love? :bunnyheart

Hi bbgrl20 and Mocha, I've got a ND too, Pipp! :welcome

Jenny, Turbo is a doll!! Congrats and :hello

Ambrose, my bunny and I are a bonded pair, we only need each other, but she lives in my room with me. Indoor cages (made from NIC cubes) are pretty cheap. I'm always worried predators might get my bunny when she's outside, but I guess it depends how secure your yard is, and mine isn't. (And hutches aren't always predator proof). Not sure what you mean by his ears being back (post pics in the Bunny Blogs section if you've got any), but try this site for bunny language translations: http://www.muridae.com/rabbits/rabbittalk_intro.html And of course welcome to the forum!

:helloNikki and Emo! What kind of bunny is Emo? Post pics!

And :welcomeVivibee and Feichai! I just rescued a little Harlequin mini-rex, I was only going to be fostering him, but I've fallen in love!! What an awesome bunny! He's very expressive (especially when he flicks me off with a foot flick), he'd probably do well picking up another language, but he just thinks everybody should learnlagomorph.

Glad you all could join us! Looking forward to your postsand pics!

Hello, I'm actually not sure what breed my little handful is as I actually bought him from a pet shop (I would've preferred to have gotten him from a breeder, but I was too impatient!), but he's just small, fluffy and black with the tiniest hint of white on his little tail.

Here he is, posing for his mummy:

And here is is with a "lady friend" in his bed already:

i live in oz and predators arent really a prob as i live in a suburb and have a nice secure backyard. His ears just flop like beside his head not sure if its his breed or what?

Hi everyone!

My name is Chrissy and I recently bought 2 Holland Lops from a breeder. Their names are Olivia & Owen and they are such a joy to have! They are 3 months old now and really close--they always groom each other and I often find them snuggling together in their litterbox. (Don't worry, I definitely plan on getting them spayed/neutered when they are older). They LOVE Cheerios and will always try to push their little faces through the cage to get some. They are both very friendly and sweet, and always greet me when I approach the cage. I'm going to try and put some pictures into this post and hopefully it'll work..

I love to read this forum and I'm glad I found people who love bunnies as much as I do!

Chrissy

Hi Im from Ohio and I have one rabbit, his name is BUNBUN he is 9 years old. I am sad because his health is getting bad. I lost one of my other rabbits 2 years ago:(. I just wanted to see all of the wonderful rabbits everyone has. They are great!

Hi everybody! Welcome to the forum!

Bunsmom- sorry to hear that Bunbun isn't feeling well. If you post about what's going on with him, maybe we can help?

BunBun can not control hisfunctions anymore. He was litter trained very well. He would run around the house and go to his cage to do his duty. So I feel so bad that he has to stay in his cage now that he can't control him self. Also have noticed some blood in his urine. He is eating and drinking fine, but he sleeps all the time. I don't think it is fair to him to live like that. I do not know what to do.

Welcome every one!! Nikki your rabbit is so cute! Can wait to see more pictures!!

chrissy112 I love your rabbits!! They are adorable!! I have always had a soft spot for broken orange or pure orange! They are so cute!! Vivibee!! I have a mini rex also! His name is Leo and he is a little devil.. He thinks rolling in the mud is the best way to keep his show coat clean! Brat!!;)

Have you taken him to a rabbit savvy vet? His urinary problems might be from an infection or bladder stones, which can be treated. If he's arthritic, you may be able to get pain meds for him. Maybe you could put a tarp on the floor for out-of-cage time? I've known other people who have gone through similar problems with their older bunnies. A lot of them do what they can to make the bun comfortable for as long as he is enjoying himself. If it comes to it, he'll let you know when his time is up. But he could surprise you and enjoy himself for several more years!

Howdy to all new members! We'd love it if you all started bunny blogs. All your bunnies look and sound cute! Glad to have you here at RO.

:welcome

I have taken him to a good bunny vet. She did not find anything. She told me that he is just getting old. She gave me some kind of meds for him but I saw that he stoped eating when he was on it. I really do not like force feeding. I have been putting him on a blanket to get out of the cage. He seems to be enjoying that for a little bit. I feel really bad because he has never been in his cage this much. I just feel helpless.

 It sounds like your doing a really good job. I'm betting the vet gave you pain killers. Some rabbits get upset stomachs from those. My Fey did, too.:?

Have you seen the Rabbit Health References yet? Some of the info there might help you. Here's one main thread.

Caring for Sick Rabbits

Eek! My favorite link there doesn't work anymore!:( I emailed that site, hopefully they'll have it back up. It has pictures and instructions of cage arrangements and care for rabbits with paralysis and head tilt. Brilliant stuff. There's still some very good articles on that thread, though.

Thank you very much for the helpful information. I am glad that I found this site. I have learned some things that I did not know before. Thanks for caring.

Okay, they got it back up again. They were changing websites, and something must have gone wrong. But here it is:

Even though your rabbit doesn't have those conditions, it can give you tips for keeping him clean and letting him exercise.
Great site! You should move this discussion into the Infirmary so others may benefit from it as well. :)

And welcome to the forum, Bunsmom!
