Can I scream? ARG.

He is drinking a lot and he has taken some pumpkin, etc. from a syringe. I'm about to give him some more food and some oatmeal and hay and stuff.

I don't know why - no poops at all since before midnight last night. But I do feel his gut moving so that is a good sign.

I know you know what you are doing Peg, sending great vibes for you two. Arg. Keep the subq's going.

Hope he gets better soon!

So is oatmeal good for when they have stasis?
It isn't that oatmeal is good or bad...it is that he LOVES it and will eat it and at least it puts something into him.

Still no poops....been here before....feel like the little guy is teasing me and going, "What will it take to be #1 on mom's list for today?"

Oh no...c'mon New Hope...fight, Buddy!!

We're pullin' for you both, Peg...talk to me if you need a friend, ok?

I checked him shortly before I started work at 2 pm CST....about 12-15 poops but he doesn't want fluids. He is willing to chow down on oatmeal and stuff.

I did tell him that no fluids = sub q fluids via shot and he gave me this look of sweet innocence as if "Did I say I'd NEVER drink? I just don't want to drink right now..."

So he's got a 2 hour reprieve till his next dose of pedialyte and we'll continue watching his poops..

Peg

Okay...good...I hope it was just him being stubborn...and I hope he continues doing what he should be...

EAT AND DRINK, little stinker! :):hearts

Yikes, missed this earlier.

My guys will go hours and hours without pooping -- unless they're marking their territory, then it's poops on demand! -- generally, they tend to get them all out later in the day, so I've stopped worrying.

Of course given the earlier stasis, more cause for concern... but he sounds pretty good.

Keeping in mind stasis is mostly a symptom and nota cause, might want to try looking deeper into the reason? I havent' re-read the earlier thread, but I thought I saw something where he'd eat one thing and not another? Might be worth checking his molars?

I just read thatstarches like oatmeal take a lot longer to go through the system, could that affect the timing of the poops?

But I do remember having to take Pipp back to the vet after a bought of stasis because she was still only eating the pumpkin, oats, etc, and she wasdiagnosed with SBS -- spoiled bunny syndrome -- andthat really did turn out to be the case!

So you mayhave something there. ;)

Hope he's back to normal soon! Less stress! :hug1
