They are just about 9 weeks old. I'm hoping they don't grow too much over the next 4 weeks so my girls can see them while they're little. They do eat a LOT of pellets for sure!
heh... they grow a LOT between 2-3 mos... my bunnies' weights (my lionhead is a week younger than my holland lop):

8.5 wks (lionhead) - 12.5 oz/9.5 wks (lop) - 10 oz
10 wks/11 wks - 19.5 oz/15.5 oz
11 wks/12 wks - 26 oz/22 oz (I weighed a couple other times between the 10/11 wk and 11/12 wk weights and they were gaining like an ounce a day)
12.5 wks/13.5 wks - 32 oz/26.5 oz
14 wks/15 wks - 34 oz/30.5 oz

they reached 2.5+ times their starting weights in only a month! after that, their growth slowed down a lot.

Welcome, you're bunnies are very cute!

Please share what happens on christmas morning! Maybe you can even make a video of you're daughters when they find out what their christmas presents are ;).

Video of the little ones... Can someone embed this? I tried but not sure how to do it.

here ya go:

and yeah, heh... christmas is gonna have to come early if you want them to see the bunnies at their tiniest and cutest - they only fit on your hand for the first week or so at the most... it's insane how fast they grow. I still find my holland and lionhead positively adorable at 6 mos, but they definitely haven't had that "aww, cute wittle baby" look to them for a long time now.

on the plus side, by the time christmas comes around they'll be 12+ weeks old, which means you can start gradually introducing veggies... I'm 28 and I was still really freaking impatient about having to wait that month before they could have anything but hay and pellets :p

Thanks! How did you do that for future reference?

I was surprised to hear how fast they grow, my girls will still totally be instantly in love with them. We've only had them a few days and I just said to my gf last night that I thought they looked like they were getting bigger already. :(

oh, and back to the topic of spaying... you should be prepared to house them separately in case their hormones kick in and they start fighting before the vet deems them old enough to be spayed. it can take up to a month for a female's hormones to be totally gone post-spay, so they'd need to be kept apart for that stretch of time (preferably close enough to see/smell each other but just far enough apart to not fight through the cage bars)... then you'd have to re-bond them.

good sites to read up about bonding on:
http://www.cottontails-rescue.org.uk/matchups.asp
http://www.rabbitnetwork.org/articles/bond.shtml

since you need to be prepared by having (or being able to quickly throw together) a second cage and the one you have now looks store-bought (meaning they'll outgrow it pretty quickly), I highly recommend looking into NIC cages. they're easy to make, highly customizable (to any shape/size you desire) and cheaper than store-bought cages.

http://breyfamily.net/bunnycage.html
best deal on grids for the cages: http://www.sears.com/stor-floor-standing-6-cube-storage-unit/p-00913332000P?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1 (cheapest if you order online and do site-to-store to avoid outrageous shipping charges) depending on what size condo you want to have eventually, you'll need 2-4 boxes. there are 23 grids per box. a basic 2Wx4Lx2H (in grid-lengths) condo with a partial second level could be done with two boxes.

my condo is 2Wx3Lx5H and takes 4 boxes with some grids left over (because of the height, I found it necessary to have a grid floor on the ground floor for stability)... total cost to build was around $150-160 (a basic condo can be done for as little as $60-80, especially if you find a good deal on the coroplast or use wood for the flooring instead):

hormones normally don't kick in until 4 mos or later for females, so if you think it's something your girls would enjoy, you could order some grids and then wait to let them help design and/or build the cage. the only "tool" needed for most of the work is zipties (you'd want to do the flooring yourself, most likely, since it takes box cutters or an x-acto knife to work with the coroplast and a saw of some sort if you opt for wood).

the youtube thing is b*tchy...
1) click reply instead of using the quick reply box
2) on the bottom toolbar there's a youtube icon - when you click it, it brings up a pop-up box where you paste the link to the video

unfortunately, the link to the page you end up at when you've just uploaded the video never seems to work (at least for me)... try it if you want, then hit "preview" and if you get a white box instead of the thumbnail for the video, you need to try a different link.

the link you provided did NOT work when I tried to embed it. to get the link that worked, I clicked on your name above the video, pulling up the list of all your videos, then I clicked on the one I wanted to embed. that time, when the video came up, the address at the top was showing as [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jCTuzvm0vc&feature=plcp[/ame] - that one DID work when I previewed it, so I hit sent and voila - video.

forgot to mention in my previous post about spaying/being prepared to separate/rebonding, etc. that I got my holland and lionhead (both females) at 7-8 weeks old and went through the process of spaying/fixing their bond about a month ago, so if you ever have questions about it, feel free to ask me :)

Thanks so much for the info!

They do grow fast. I've had my baby bunny for almost two weeks(2 weeks tomorrow) and she has doubled in size. She is about 8 weeks or so old now.
I hope your girls really love their new babies! They're really fun to have.

They are growing so fast! I remember when I got 2 bunnies for Xmas... I defenitely didn't expect them but I loved them!
