I sold all seven of my mixed Opal and Sable herd. The guy I sold them to was just pleased as can be, it was a mainly doe herd. I got 'em for a bargain, kept the ones I wanted, then sold the rest.
BUT! Today I got NEW BUNNETHS :biggrin2:
Older Stock---
BVH1 - Orange Stripe Harlequin Buck w/ Vienna
BD1 - Blue Dutch Buck (I could have sworn it was a doe!)
BSD1 - Black Self Doe
New Stock---
VD1 - Black Self SATIN (SQUEE!) w/ VIENNA (DOUBLE SQUEE) Doe
VD2 - Broken Chestnut Agouti w/ Vienna Doe
---I THINK she's a chestnut agouti? Bright golden agouti?
---1 Blue/Brown eye, 1 Blue eye
BV1 - Broken Orange w/ Vienna Buck
---1 Blue/Brown eye, 1 Blue eye. Related to VD2.
BBD1 - Blue Broken Doe
---Possibly a Netherland or Netherland cross. She is beautiful though, will be foundation for Magpies.
I also bought three Polish Crested chicks xD Their in with my broody doe who's mothering three other chicks, she took them right under her wing. Polish Crested's are hysterical looking, I couldn't resist!
Pics coming soon! Anyone else got new breeding stock recently? I'm so excited I could scream.
Edit---Figured I best explain the 'BVH1' and similar letters and numbers. BVH1 stands for Buck Vienna Harlequin No. 1. He DOES have a name, Pumpkin King, but the BVH1 is shorter and more specific. It helps when I plan future breedings, because I know exactly what color and gene type he is.
I write the number on the inside of the ear with a sharpie, every two weeks or so after it fades quite a bit. When their young and the ears are tiny it's usually just a number and a letter.
Say I where to have two Blue Dutch bucks, BD1 and BD2, and I want to breed BD2 to DD3, all I have to do is peak at the ear for proper identification
Thought I'd just clarify. I don't tattoo my bunnies, just sharpie 'em.
