your best bet is a local farmer.

yes oxbow is exemplary quality but it's also grown by a farmer lol.

plus if you buy local

a) you're supporting local industries
b) its cheaper
c) better for the environment, no plastic packaging, having to import it from wherever the oxbow farm is etc.

I can order Oxbow Timothy 50 lb. for $ 53.00 from my vet office. WooHoo. I'm gonna do that til I can look for bales

I got my hay from a farmer near the Beach Waterpark off I-71 not too far from you. I saw an add on Craig's list.

You should look at some local farmers, he allowed me and my husband to pick our bales and had orchard grass, alfalafa and timothy. I got one bale of each for $3.

so far the hay is clean with no pests - really hit up the local farmers.

I was gonna wait til the weather got warmer to look for local farmers. I can look on Craig's list now though. I hate this cold weather, to get out in it, Lol. Thanks for the info.

I saw one area farmer on the Cincinnati Craig's list in the last week selling hay - too bad the weather has turned crappy!
