You know the new member bunnyfood ??

Well her two litters of babies 1 had 6 and one had 4 they lost one and today they lost another 2 from the same litter and she thinks that the mum is not looking after them - should she move the 2 babies that are left in with the other litter and see if the other mum will look after them but shes worried that if the other mum doesn't accept them then she will have to move them back and shes worried that their real mum won't accept them anymore.

Please help what should she do..

Post here so I can phone her back straight away

Thanks in advance

I've heard many people recommend, giving Mom a treat to distract her and holding her over the babies to allow them a chance to nurse...I would try to get her to nurse thembefore fostering with the other Mom.

I'm sure a more experianced person will be along soon with advice!

Best wishes for the babies.

Do nottry that (putting them with a different mom) unless she's absolutely sure the mother is not caring for them. Check theirstomachs to see if they are round, this will tell you if they are being fed.

Depends on the age of the babies as to being able to give them to another doe to foster also depends on the doe. Is she sure they werent peanuts as they can survive up to 3 or 4 days sometimes.

If she wants to put them over then the best thing to do is put a drop of Vanilla on the fosterdoes nose so she cant smell them for a while by the time she can they will be smelling of her and her hutch.

I hope that helps a bit.

Thanks bex, another one has died. It was really cute. I'm really sad. :cry1:

I'm gonna be mopy and sulky for days now.

Mums' done everything on the suggestions and we're not sure if Spotty's other kittens will survive though.

Thanks for telling the people about it.

R.I.P, Punty, Jess Junior and Muddy. :rip:

Love ya bex. bye.:cry2

Thanks for your advice. It's a really good idea and i'd never have thought of it. My bunnies are 8 days old now. Thanks again.

I went horse riding today and i was on Gypsy and she didn't like Dad leading her so she stood on his foot!!!

It was so funny!

I am so sorry she did it to him.

:lies

Gypsy is one heavy pony! She did a lovely trot for me. We played Grandma's footsteps and i got to be the person who had to turn around and see if anyone moved! Phoebe the pony won. This really horrible spoilt girl was riding on poor Pip and she kept kicking him soooo hard and he kept coughing and snorting because she was pulling the reigns too hard. Poor Pippin. I told her to stop hurting him but she just went " Whatever. I'm riding him so I can do what I want on him. " And she led poor pippin away with her nose in the air and nearly crashed into a bush! Then she started screaming and all the other ponies trotted off because they were scared! Bye Bexy! Luvya!

Cabbage I'm guessing you don't know how to start other thread yeah?
Becuase why don't you phone me now and i will help you!
I'm coming round today aren't I?

It is very common to foster baby rabbits to another Doe that is on a litter. If she is a first time Mom, it is not uncommon for a first time mom to not take care of a litter. I had one that did the same, but did not have another litter to foster to. All you can do is try. If the doe is not taking care of her kits then they will die anyway. So you got a 50% Chance that the other mom will take them in and feed them. Give it a try. You have nothing to lose and every thing to gain. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

They are really cute cabbage!!! :D

I'll put the piccys on later!
