I know Bunny Mum....you must be feeling so distraught over this whole situation...it's not fair that you had to lose your babies that way...just not fair at all
I will hope and pray so hardfor Dory..poor little babygirl
Myxomatosis is a horrible thing, and for awhile I was extremely paranoid. Digging through the hay for signs of mold, ensuring that no flea hopped onto my pant leg, no flies were allowed through the door.
I don't live in Australia, but I am so sorry that you're experiencing this. I could only imaging the horrible sensation when your rabbit comes down with it. I'll be praying for you =[
Myxo is a big issue for me where I live, because there are wild hares living in my backyard. I really doubt that any of them are carrying the disease, because my rabbit has been in the same areas as them and such and has never seemed sick, but I still worry. He's vaccinated against Calicivirus, but not Myxo. As soon as I have some free time, I'm going to read up on Myxo, to help prevent Ollie from getting it.
Yes be careful with your bun its a death sentence if they catch it, no cure and vaccine illegal.
On the up side we still have Dory on the downsize poor baby never goes in her outside pen as we just cant take the risk. She has a big run in side and im sure is loving all the attention but the outside pens just gave her more variation.
What type of rabbit do you have and how is it housed?
