My rabbit keeps coughing

My rabbit cleans herself a lot and after she keeps opening her mouth like she's yawning or coughing but she does it repeatedly I'm not sure what it is or what to do. Thanks for helping

Hello Oreo - I am a rabbit novice, so hopefully some of the forum regulars will lend their advice as well.

Personally, I would take her to the vet for a checkup. My impression is that they can get respiratory illnesses fairly easily - ours did - and can deteriorate quickly. Not to alarm you, just sharing our limited (but recent) experience. Our little guy had a couple of "sneezing attacks" - multiple rapid-fire sneezes in a row. Turns out, that was the indication of the upper respiratory infection.

If you are concerned about the cost of a vet visit, you can probably call ahead to several places, describe your problem and need, and ask for a quote to be seen.
