Another UPDATE on Lulu...well she was back at the vet with yet another infection, ohh i just don't know what is going on with her,i mentioned bladder stones again and the vet thought hmmm..,so he gave her another x ray but nothing showed up,he was a bit worried and wanted to investigate further so he then did a ultrasound but *sigh's with relief*it came back clear,so she does not have bladder stones..thankgod for that, and he couldn't see much else that was wrong.

So Dr Taka has given Lulu more baytril, but instead of a 7 day treatment he made it a 14 day treatment of baytril,he was thinking she just may need a longer dose,he also gave her another antibiotic injection.

Dr Taka also said that when Lulu is finished all her medicine, to take her back and he will take a urine sample and send it away to the lab,so then the cause can be identified and it will tell him what antibiotics to use.

This is the third infection, and it just doesn't seem normal to me,i just want to know what is going on.

Anyway Dr Sylvia and Dr Taka are great, they have both fallen in love with little Lulu,Dr Taka was the one who had diagnosed Lulu with being blind and he has loved her ever since.

Lulu was also weighed and she weighs 1.8 kilos, does anyone know if this is a good weight for a mini lop?

Poor little LuLu, my minilop boy Ben passed away earlier this year from from untreated urinary infection. I had left him at my mother-in-laws while we shifted to another town and she didn't bother telling me he needed to see a vet and she didn't take him in herself either. She said towards the end he was leeking blood everywhere. I don't see or talk to her much anymore :X.

1.8kg sounds like a normal weight for a mini lop, any bigger than that might be a little large though. Ben was 1.4kg if I remember correctly but he as a small bunny.

Ohh noo Minilops i'm sorry about your boy Ben,that is sad:(

Lulu is just about two and a half years old and i just dont know what is going on with her, this is her third infection! i don't know if i was imagining she was getting skinny but since you said 1.8 kilos is fine,i feel relieved now.

Lulu is my only little minilop, and i just cannot bare to see her in discomfort, but one thing she is great at taking her medicine,i'm sure she is used to it by now, whereas the very first time when she had her infection she would struggle with the syringe, now she just lays there, even when my kids are at school and i have to do it myself, she actually lets me syringe her,her medicine:)

Once again i'm sorry what happened to your little Ben:(

Thanks minilops:)
