To my surpise found out I really really enjoy rabbits. Most everything about them. Making and constantly updating an improving habitats is like nesting.
So many pics already and so much cuteness abounds. Zippy knows to come in at night-managing full yard and house run. All are sweet ones and Remy gives kisses to my little teddy guinea pig.
My biggest challenge is my 13 week old Seymour. He does eat but well often doesn't too. He is picky. I don't see him eating pellets. Have his cage against anothers but he does seem down if he not getting to sniff a female.. Had vet consult -all is well, the perfect foods, supplements everything but he still skinny..
I have 2 other juveniles-females that are together.. they are doing great..
I have multiple areas and sort of rotate them.. Outddoor run, outdoor yard, indoor full house, indoor 36sf pen, and a 9 sf cage. I'm home full time to be able to do this..
So day in Zippy's life.. may be cage night-sometimes she wants to be in it..
10 am go out in large yard-socializes with bunnies in run
1 pm-she comes in for nap
2 pm- she out mostly
8 pm-I call her.. she comes in for the night
8-12 pm- hangs in living room-
11-12 either just stay in free house area or go to sleeping cage
For Skinny Seymour its a very different scenario:
Mostly he is in the X-pen inside- it has some different areas in it--eg, theres the box with t-hay and the basket with alph hay and t-hay-
there's his food bowl and sometimes fresh kale or clover and occasionally apple peel..
he get's to socialize with Layla who is adjacent in open wire..
I'm increasing his outdoor playtime with the younger rabbits but he doesn't eat when out there so its limited.
He has some living room floor time as trial too but i didn't see any eating..
He is given supplement bottle feeding now but not sure it helps much..
He comes to life more when his name is called, but seems to languish a bit when left alone at any length. I go up there about 8-10x a day..
Remy: He's an adult male lionhead. Mostly he is out in his super pen. It is large and has a hutch within it. He is mr. burrow bun and its over a sandy soil area so he makes some deep ones in there. He likely good for any whether here but on lousy days he runs living room. He so fun to hold. I rotate him inside occasionally- He seems to like some changes at times. He gets visits many times a day from zippy and me and I allow the neighbors to visit all my rabbits 1x daily. I move the pen occasionally so he gets bunch of fresh grass/clover.
