Congratulations, Shiloh & Paul :biggrin2:!

It is funny how there will be a wave of pregnant RO'ers and then a wave of wedding planning RO'ers, lol!
This is true! I hadn't thought of that before...

We should have a wedding-planning sub-forum lol! :biggrin2:

Edited to say: Shiloh, I can't wait to see pictures, and hear about how he proposed! The ring and matching pendant sounds gorgeous! Oh and this bugged me when I got engaged, but I feel like it's traditional to ask it anyway- have you set a date yet? :biggrin2: People kept asking me that on the very day we got engaged and I was saying 'umm, NO! We've been engaged for 3 hours people, have some patience!' :p

What did your parents say about the news?

Sorry, no pictures yet! I got home late last night and still had to do homework, then had to go to bed b/c I had to get up early this morning. Now I'm at school so don't have a camera here. I'll take pictures this evening though!

On Monday night we went out to dinner at the same restaurant we went to on our first date 3 years ago, a yummy place called The Cookie Jar (has to be good with a name like that, huh!). We had dinner and were enjoying each other's company and then Paul pulled out a card. Both of us hate sappy goopy cards, but this one just said "Grow old with me, the best is yet to be" in black letters on the front and then Paul had written something similar inside. Aw, sweet! Then he pulled a little black box out of his pocket. I was very surprised and kind of taken aback, then relieved and happy when I opened it because it was the necklace :biggrin2:

Then we went to see a movie (Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D, cute movie) and went home. We both love peanut butter so I made a peanut butter pie, which is something we only have once or twice a year. While we were eating the pie, I was gushing over the pretty necklace and told him how surprised I was when he handed me the box because I thought it was an engagement ring! He laughed and he pulled ANOTHER, even smaller black box out of his pocket, opened it up and said something along the lines of "I love you, will you marry me" (I was unfortunately too busy being surprised to remember what exactly he said). I asked if he was sure, he said he was, I said "OF COURSE" and much hugging and kissing followed, then examination of the pretty ring.

I've thought Paul was The One for the past 2 1/2 years so I've basically been waiting for him to be ready! I was so surprised because I thought he wasn't ready yet and that it would at least be another year or so. That's why I asked if he was sure :D It turns out he was planning to propose on our anniversary for the last 2 months and had already called and asked both of my parents AND my brother, and told his parents and brother and all his coworkers. He was keeping the jewelry in the safe at work!

I haven't called my parents yet to tell them since they already know and I would have had to call them super late their time, but I plan to after my birdies go to the vet this afternoon.

And Jen, yes, yesterday people were already asking if we've set a date! We haven't talked about an actual wedding a whole lot and didn't talk about dates or anything at all the first night since it was like 2 in the morning and I had a test in the morning. We talked about it some last night though and we want something small and stress-free. My cousin had a beautiful church wedding back in September, it was wonderful and gorgeous, but the poor girl was a nervous wreck from all the stress and cried the whole day. We're going to be down in Washington for a week in August and we're thinking about heading to the court house (or wherever you sign marriage papers?) and getting married with just our parents and brothers there, then later that day having a get together in my aunt's backyard with our assorted family members. No ceremony. There would probably only be about 25 people.

Okay, here are pictures! Sorry the one with the necklace didn't turn out, it's hard to focus the camera on something so tiny and shiny. They look prettier in real life :D

Here's a slightly better picture of the necklace, but it still doesn't do it justice. The metal looks kind of weird in the photo for some reason. Also, don't know if you can really tell, but the ring has 3 tiny diamonds on either side of the emerald and the pendant has 6 tiny diamonds going up the side.
