About 2 months ago, my male lop wasneutered. Now, the otherday I noticed he was being a little messy with his poops so I had agood look at him to see if I could work out why.

Whilstlooking in his nether regins, I noticed puss in a foldthat's eitherside of his "thingy". I didn't even know boyshad those bits (I've only had girl bunnies), and so I never eventhought to check. I feel awful!

I cleaned him up with some mild salt water, and used a little germolinebut that doesn't seem to have helped much because it comes back. Ican't get to the vets until Thursday, so should I just keep cleaningit? Is it safe to do so?

Or what can I use that would be better in the mean time?

I'm not sure what this might be, but itcould be the scent glands. Maybe have a look at this link toestablish whether or not it is.

Maybe you could phone up the vet and see what they suggest you do until you can get him in?

When my bunnies have had something that could potentially turn into aninfection I have bathed them with warm salty water (on the localisedarea) but I have no idea if that is sensible around the nether regions.

I am also not sure if germolene should be used as a bunny can lickthere and I'm not sure it's safe for a bunny to ingest, so be carefulwith that.

Drizzle had that once. When the scent glands getreally dirty, sometimes pus can develop. I usually clean his w/ a Qtipand some baby oil. Just be very gentle.

I wouldn't clean it too often. Just check them (there are 2, one oneither side of the genitals) and make sure they look clean. If they aregetting gritty or pussy, clean it.

Make sure to keep an eye on it for now just in case an infecitondeveloped. If it stays red or pussy for a few days, I'd take him to thevet for antibiotics.

Please take your guy to the vet - ifthere's pus, he already has an infection that requires antibiotictreatment! I would hate to see this infection spread (and it can) - amsure you feel the same.

Am sure others here can tell you more about all of this.

I agree with the above. Keep it clean, but don't put anything on it until advised by the vet. Pleasegive us an update after the Thurs. vet visit. :)
