After my one bun ate a good amount of plastic from her (now-former) litter box. Since then (about two weeks' ago now), her fecals have turned odd.

It took five months' to get her fecals nearly normal. (She'sa megacolon bun: tends to have odd shaped-/sized-fecals, sometimes overly moist/smelly.) But after slowly adjusting her diet, she was passing nice, round fecals.

For the past two nights' (prior to last night), she passed a good amount of OK-shaped fecals. Then, last night, she again passed oddly-shaped ones, some of which are small ("broken-looking").

I realize that the plastic moving through her is likely irritating her digestive system and causing the fecal issues. Is it best that I do nothing special for her, as long as she's passing fecals (no matter how odd-looking)?

Thank you,

Jenk

I would not do anything special yet if she is passing odd shaped fecals. Sorry it took so long for an answer to this.

Believe it or not, I've managed to not interfere with her diet, despite my discomfort with her fecals changing for the worse (again). I feel a little defeated, since I had them looking so close to normal....*sigh* Even my hubby must give me props, though; I've not given in to panic and run our girl to the vet. And though her elimination is odd, it's still plentiful; so I can only assume that she's passing the plastic that she gorged on two weeks'ago.

My new mantra is: As long as she's eating, drinking and active, I need to just chill. :D

It is good for two reasons: 1) It prevents me from stressing out the buns with unnecessary treatments and/or vet visits; 2) it saves us money (due to a decrease in vet visits). ;)

Honestly, though, it's still hard for me to remain inwardly calm; I kinda have to fake it 'til I make it. LOL
