OMG OMG OMG

So, I waited til the last minute possible to go out. I needed to deposit money at the bank for the bills and I had completely ran out of food other than candy :pSo here I am, thinking I will get a few groceries, so I take my old lady basket out and walk up to the sidewalk.

Errrr

I said walk up to the sidewalk... Nope. Nothing. Just snow. Now I know I will suffer with my basket but I don't have a choice, I cannot carry the groceries. I gather my courage and walk in the middle of the street, thinking maybe it's just my street that wasn't cleaned. Hmm... Nope, no sidewalks in this neighborhood :?My5 min walk to the bank turned into 20mins. Crazy snow...

But then the funny part. I leave the bank, cross the street, walk through the entire mall parking lot only to see that there is yellow tape blocking the entrance where i usually go in by. I walk to the other entrance... Same thing. Uh oh... Yep, that's right, they shut the ENTIRE mall :shock:Nooooooooooooo. I am guessing it was deemed unsafe. When we had the icestorm, the roof at the Zellers caved in... Great. Walk around the mall, to the other side and got my groceries at Wal-Mart.

Walk back home with my heavy "granny" basket. It felt like an eternity and I swear, I lost my arm somewhere on the way trying to pull it through the snow... Worst thing is, I had to walk in the streets right... And no, you can't fit if a car is coming, so I basicallyran a block and a half to get to the corner before another car came.

I am home now. I have food, bills are covered, i am not even looking outside until next Monday when I go for my allergy tests. Nah uh. I love snow... But this... Wow, I never experienced this in my life.

WOAH Ms Binky that sounds horrible! Poor you! I can't imagine not being able to leave my house for near enough a week due to the weather, that must be horrible!

Glad you've got food and everything sorted though! :)

Jen xx

:(Worst thing is I told Mario he can't come back now :cry1:He would be trapped in the house and so would my mother-in-law and i think they would go out of their minds. :cry4:

Sounds like even MORE reason for him to come visit, in my opinion! Then he could never leave! YAYY!!

Hehe...

Seriously, though...wow...can't imagine the snow you're experiencing. I've never lived somewhere that it was quite that bad...and I even lived in Ohio at one point!

Hugs and safe thoughts to everyone going through snowheck!

Eww that is going to be one messy town. The only biggest thing I hate about snow is when it turns into brown muddy slush. Yuck.

Now all of the yards are just sopping wet from all that snow that melted. No Snow yay. 50's all week.

Guess what spring is here cause the robins were out looking for wormies all day today.

What do you mean Mario can't come now? :(when will they come?

Kevin finally got us plowed out after nearly 30 hours of plowing. :shock:and then, our truck wouldn't start. Yikes.

It's going to be a nightmare when all this melts!

Well...

I don't see how a wheelchair can move around in that. :?40% of the snowplows/snowblowers broke down and won't be repaired for another 10 days. My father (who is a truck driver) says it will take a while, especially on a little street like mine.

Man, 30 hours? That's insane :?I am glad I put my idea of owning such a land away! LOL :pIt's nice when you have a man that can do it yanno :p

Oh I wanted to say...

3 women died yesterday after a roof caved in (not in Montreal buta bit further away). There were about 40 employees inside at the time so in a way, they got lucky it's not more than 3. Still, any life lost is asad thing :(

Now they are talking about snow rage...

One man got so enraged with a neighbor that he pointed a gun at her. Apparently, the woman had hired a man to clean her property and the man was blowing snow into the other man's yard... :?

A teenager was stabbed multiple times after throwing snowballs at a car. A man pulled over, grabbed the kid and stabbed him repeatedly. Luckily, it was minor injuries.

I think the snow is getting to people... In fact, I swear, when I was walking home yesterday and it started snowing, I think everyone started to cry. :?I do still hope we go for the record though :p

That's awful & scary. The snow & winter does drive people crazy when it's this long. I'm sure of it. I love winter, but it's hard sometimes. I know back here in the bush we get a little stir crazy, so why wouldn't people in the city too.

Yikes to all the broken plows. Lets hope this melts soon. As I type it has started to snow like crazy here

How much more for a record? I know you don't get this much snow very often so this is something you can brag about in later years.

I hear the city sold a bunch of snow removal vehicles a while back because people complained they didn't like the snow being blown on their yards. So the city got rid of them.
