Ok, I thought I would start my own thread since I will be updating it regularly. I hope that is ok.

It is officially the worst winter since 1971, therefore, the worst that I have ever experienced personally. I was one of those who experienced the ice storm of the century but this is indeed the yeah with the most storms and snowfall since 1971.

We are expecting 35-40cm of snow and ice. The storm just started.

Here is a lil slideshow. Notice the titles and know that anything at 2pm was what we had before the storm began... I just want to give an idea of the before and after as i will be updating with news and pics. (If the electricity holds!:?)

We are getting hit right now msbinky! We are about 3 hours from Montreal. OMG it is awful! The ice is really getting bad and I am waiting for the power to go out any minute. I can't believe how badly this storm has gotten... this morning it was snowing a lot, but now with the ice, it's not good! I hope you are safe & warm! I brought in a ton of firewood, and thankfully I have leftover soup I can cook on the woodstove if everything goes to heck on us. But I don't want to loose my computer! lol.

Trailsend,

I'm in a bit of a panick right now myself. The lights are flickering. I have nothing edible without electricity other thanbabyfood and canned papaya I keep on hand for the bunnies! Luckily I am stocked for the pets but omg... I have no idea what to do. I am thinking of running out right now and getting sandwhiches to stock up on. It's already bad and it's expected to get so much worse.

Stay safe!!!

BE CAREFUL! I know it's awful here, there is ice flying everywhere. It was a nightmare feeding the farm animals for the evening, that was nearly an hour ago, and it's much worse now. :(If you go out you are not going far are you?

Heh...

Yeah, I hate ice! Hope you will stay nice and cozy now. I haven't seen any ice fly by yet but the wind whips the snow up in your face pretty bad so I wouldn't want to be walking outside where you are with the ice. I guess in a few hours we will get your junk :p

I am not moving from here. Lol. I found some cereal and I have a bag of milk left and I ate today. So I will take my chances of losing power and having cereal over being whacked over the head by branches flying because I just heard one snap a few minutes ago. :?Lol. This will be interesting. I wish I had a better camera. I am hoping to go out later and take a few pics quickly. Lol.

Oh god, that sounds horrible! I know I always complain that our weather is too mild, butI don't think I'd like to be in the middle of that!

Take care of yourself!

35cm-40cm = 13.8 - 15.7 inches.

It's awful awful nasty out there! I don't think I will take pics tonight but I will in the morning! Wow :?They are announcing100 km/h winds right now... Ah see... The power just nearly went off just now... Crazy :p

If any of your poor cold people need to evacuate to Florida, I have room for you and your rabbits. That's if you can get out of your house. Those pictures are scary!

Hihi

Thank you. Actually it's not really cold so I cannot complain (then again if it's not -40CI am not cold - I love the cold) :biggrin2:I miss the light though :?I wake up and it's like nightime because I have absolutely zero natural light now. Lol.

What are you nuts or what. -40 degrees C is friggin cold. gah, I need some warmth.

I should take up your offer. My mom will be in fla next month. :(

Lol! I love the cold. What will be nuts will be when I move to Greece... I will have a really hard time with the heat :?

Well I am a little disappointed because I had really wanted to take good pics of the storm itself but it was way too windy and didn't want to get whipped with ice and the power was very unstable. I didn't lose any but many places did. According to CTV news, Montreal got over 40cm of snow last night. WE are expecting some flurries on Wednesday but I don't think it'll be much of anything. According to CTV news yesterday, if Montreal had gotten the forecasted snowfall, we would be about 20cm away from beating the 1971 record of 381cm of snow. As funny as it sounds, many of us are hoping for another good snowfall just to beat that record. One guy said "Why do all of this and not go all the way and get the gold?" Hihi.

Omg, Poor Annabel was wondering why it is so dark. It's never ever been this dark in the appartment. I tried taking a pic without the flash but it's just black. Lol. (With the flash you can't tell how dark it is)

Here ya go:

I think it broke here around 4 or 5 AM. It's windy outside today, but nothing major. I'm getting ready to go out and dig my way to the barns. I don't think I can get to my water or hay before Kevin plows so it's going to take forever to get anything done! But we didn't loose power! We've lost it three times this winter and the weather was hardly doing anything lol, but major storm, and our power stayed on.

You didn't loose power msbinky?

Slavetoabunny: We are on our way. I don't know how much room you have, but expect a large livestock trailer and big truck in your driveway in a few days lol.

It's worse than we thought - our miniature horse Jackson, just came out of his house and tried to walk around and sank in snow about his chest. Thankfully he was able to get out, and then he quickly ran back inside his house!

LMBO @ Jackson. Poor lil thing, that must have been a funny sight to see him run straight back inside. LOL.

No, we didn't miss any power thoughI was sure we would at one point. The lights were flickering so bad. Lol, I know what you mean about the power staying on during the worst storms but then it going off for nothing. I never understood that myself :p

That should make up real popular with the neighbors! I suppose they can go graze by the lake. It should save us some money on the lawn service. I probably shouldn't mention that is was 70 degrees today.

I hope you are getting yourselves dug out. I lived in Colorado for 20 years and I don't miss the cold and snow at all!
