lucy seems to be ok today

not pooping as much but a question how can you try and get your rabbit to drink more

and can rabbits sufffer from constipation

varna xxxx

i'll update 2night as lucy has another appointment tonight

Varna,

A good way to get more water into her is to slowlyincreasethe greens and veggies in her diet and decrease her pelletration. Also feed hay to provide plenty of fiber in the diet(the greens and veggies will also provide fiber).

Varna, I'm so sorry Lucy is sick!! I'm just glad you were able to catch it in time to get her to a vet and get care for her.

I would tempt her with anything she likes right now to get her to eat.Our rabbits love parsley, fresh basil, romaine lettuce, broccoli, carrots, raisins, craisins. Another good source of high fiber isunprocessed oats, we give them some of that frequently just to be onthe safe side.

Keep us up to date please. *hugs*

To get her to drink more, you could add someunsweetened fruit juice such as apple or Pedialyte to herwater. Just make sure that she also has access to normalwater, too, in case she doesn't like what you added.

I hope she gets better soon. The two of you are in my thoughts.

Wow, scary stuff...glad you got her to the vetin time....you can always give her water via a syringe too if you haveto in order to make sure she's getting enough. The pedialite is a greatsuggestion too, please keep us updated!

Hi varna,

So sorry to hear about lucy. Prayers and good thoughts sent.

You might try adding some vanilla to her water. If she likes the taste she may drink more.

I hope Lucy gets better. Sounds like you taking good care of her.

Hi Varna, I am so sorry to hear thatLucy is sick. I am glad the vet was able to help her and Ihope that she continues to improve. My male rabbit Troubledoes not drink as much water asI would like him toeither. He also does not like pineapple or pumpkin.Thank goodness he likes greens and oats.

Sometimes it just takes time to figure out what will help your bun thebest. Pam suggestion was good. She is so helpful tous! Kiss Lucy on the nose and feed her somegreens. We will be waiting to hear that she isdoing better. Beckie
