Lot of head shaking..?

My bun came home from the vet yesterday after getting neutered. He rode up to the vet with a lovely woman that runs a rabbit rescue in my area who also took quite a few of her rescue rabbits to be altered. Now when I got him home and let him out of the carrier and into his cage he shook his head a few times and jumped around. I decided to let him out of his cage today to run around a little and noticed that he was shaking his head... alot. He's kind of hugging his left ear toward his back while the other is still up and he's cleaning it alot as though its dirty. He doesnt really like his ears messed with so I havent tried looking inside yet. Anyone else ever had this problem? Could it be when the vet checked his ears? Could it be the beginning of an ear infection?

It sounds like it could be an ear infection or ear mites. Sometimes the stress of a vet visit, in addition to the neuter, can cause the immune system to weaken and latent bacterial or parasitic infections to take hold. Unfortunately sounds like you have to go back to the vet to figure out whether it's mites or infection, and get the proper meds.

Another possibility....some of the more advanced vets administer IV drugs thru the large vein in the ear. Might be worth a call to the vet to see if any meds were infused thru the ear vein. Could just be some irritation if this is the case.
