Lol I dunno- maybe it's just me, but this seems to be how angoras are often groomed to look like, I guess for show standards.

But does this seem pretty cruel to you lol? I bet this poor rabbit has a hard time walking/waddling and seeing etc.

*poof*

XD

errr. idk? I guess I see them as more of rabbits for strictly wool. And that perhaps their coat doesn't get that long. Because yes, I do think that it might not be the best thing for it to be like that.

Then again, look at that one dog that has all the dreads... XD

Hmm yeah I agree but def not as bad as that poor angora lol. Like being trapped in a giant marshmallow!!!!!

Properly cared for, they live a pampered life. When they are not being exhibited, they are generally kept sheared down. Angoras in full coats can get around quite well, although bangs may impair their vision ;)

Lol well Pam you are probs the most experienced person here in regard to that so I will take what you say :).

That's nice they live a pampered life when being showed!!!!! How lovely. So they just have to look like this for the shows, and then after that they are kept not as poofy?

But can you guys imagine seeing this angora waddling around? :roflmao:

LOL

They are generally just kept like that for shows. When breeding or molting, the coat is sheared. (Except for the head/furnishings which would take too long to grow back).

I used to groom and shear angoras - very labor intensive breed.

How long does it take their coat to grow out?

Certainly makes sense that they'd be pampered, kind of like out fistulated cows when people are like oh now poor cows and we respond, yeah, poor things have to spend all day doing whatever they want and having food carted to them in exchange for someone sticking their hand in them once a week.

LOOOLL omg so cute!!! I actually have one of my own to share.....

My mum tagged it 'Please don't report us to the RSPCA- we promise we won't ever ever do it again' :p

We just had to once. Just to see what it looked like.

Pippa wasn't impressed.

Jen :D
