I made her a cage/pen out of those panels that I have seen a lot of you use. its is a circle of nine panels and two panels tall. (like 2 1/2 ft tall) JP is 7 weeks and tried jumping out but failed (came very close) but she just clung to the side holding on until I went and got her down. I think it scared her and she hasn't tried again. But she's getting bigger, how high does it need to be to keep her in when she's an adult? I don't have any more panels I found the ones I have at a thrift store and I don't want to go pay money for more at a real store. haha also what could I put on top? clipping a sheet to the top would that do anything?

also when do I have to worry about clipping her nails? I'll do it myself but I just got her a week ago. She's not scratching me or anything.

oh here's a picture

She is very cute! You might want to put a little hiding spot in there so she can feel a little more secure when sleeping. She might even fit in an oatmeal container with the ends cut off, it's hard to tell her size from the picture. I would think at least for now, two is high enough to keep her in. I use three, but they also have things they can climb on as well.

I agree with brandy that she might need some sort of hiding enclosure. Although I have no personal experience, I have read about buns who can climb so I would be careful! :)

Although, when we first brought Agnes home, she did get herself into a part of her enclosure that she couldn't get down from ieither. Maybe your bun is just getting used to her surroundings and might not do it again, especially as she gets more used to things and feels more secure. Otherwise, you could look into building a NIC. There are several threads on here about those too.

Good luck!

oh you're right! I cut a shoe box and put that in there. I doubt she'd ever sleep in it but she is kind of playing with is goes inside, sits on top. will probably help her escape.. :confused2: its the first "toy" she has liked. I think she's a pretty comfortable sleeper though she sleeps on her side with her legs stretched out and her eyes closed. Someone told me they sleep with their eyes open :confused2: that's kind of weird.

Rue likes to stretch right out when she sleeps as well. But she loves having a place to hide when she wants it. Otherwise she will sit on top of it and eat it.

I would maybe get a mesh or something to put across the top. Put little clips on each panel so you can clip it closed then easily take it off when you need to.

We have a two-high NIC cage for our bunnies. Junie and Nibbles are in separate sections, but they're right up against each other. Junie is a Netherland dwarf. One morning as I was getting breakfast ready, I heard a huge crash, then lots of running and jumping. I ran over and saw that Junie had JUMPED out of her cage into Nibbles, who proceeded to go crazy. We were able to separate them fairly quickly.

All that to say, YES. Little bunnies can indeed clear a 28" high fence! We've put additional NIC panels across the top of her cage now (secured with binder clips) so she can't get out.
