I'm really aggrivated right now.

Just got back from the feed store this morning where I'm well known as I'd do mobile adoptions for the pound there.

Bought my feed, got ready to leave and the clerk said... hey - I think the manager wants to talk to you.

Went to the back and Mr Manager says (laughingly) I think we got a delivery for you this morning. Arrived around sunup.

ITS A BOX OF LIVE PUPPIES.

Mixed up breed, no Mom and barely any tooth buds showing.

:pssd:

Great. The city closed down Animal Control - I had travel plans, cant get ahold of ANYONE to foster and I cant take them with me where I'm going this weekend...

So what? Cancel my vacation/hoilday plans?

Probably.

Anyone here from MO want a puppy to bottle feed/raise - KEEP?

:soapbox

Well you know I love dogs to death buttt - 1. i dont live anywhere near you and 2. i wouldnt be alowed one so really i can;t help :(

Sorry about this - they shouldnt really just bung them on you - isnt there anyone else to look after them for a while?

Oh Leaf, I am so sorry! If I were closer, I would at least keep them while you were away. I know how heart-wrenching it is anyhow!

Gosh what terrible timing for you Leaf...

I really hope that you can find someone who will be able to help you out with these puppies so you will still be able to go on your holiday.

So sad for the little abandoned puppies though

I feel so helpless! I don't live near you!!!!!!!!! Oh I want to help. It makes me so sad that someone would leave their puppies like that. I hope some one can help!

I haven't been able to find anyone.

I had a 4 hour drive ahead of me yesterday after working a 9 hour overnight shift but the puppies came into the picture and all the time I spent trying to settle them somewhere got into my drive time and by the time I gave up trying I was too tired to make the drive.

I've had a lot of possible takers once the pups are weaned but it looks like I'm stuck with the beggars for now.

They're probably close to 3 weeks old. One of them is blue eyed, one soild white. Hopefully whatever they are mixed with is enough to dilute the Aussie (IMO) out of them for the white's sake...

They're soooo cute!

I'm sorry your travel plans and weekend were messed up, but bless you once again for taking them in

Is it just me or do you not see solid white dogs very often? :?

Ok, I was told there were 7 puppies but the workers at the feed store picked through and took some for themselves. :?Hopefully they know what they're doing..

Not much better here, but one of my friends is supposed to come get the black and white girl around 1:30. She has goats (milk) and has hand raised pups before so that leaves me with three. ANother friend insists on having the white one but he cant hand raise a puppy so I'll keep her for him. I hate doing that though in case anything were to happen.

I'm back already from dropping the black and white girl off with a friend. Man, that pup is CUTE and as soft as silk.

Funny, but to top it off - before I left my neighbor came over to see if I wanted Red (her pit) because her Mom just got evicted and dropped her dogs off there.

I showed her these guys, plus I have two dogs and a foster from the pound who goes to her new home on Monday - and my new pup I posted about a few weeks ago (who is camping with some friends thank goodness!)... and believe it or not another friend let me know her Uncles pups are ready to go and "could you please take at least two of them? They are Yorkie/Pom/Chihuahuas"...

OMG

no. No. NO!

Ok, probably - but not until some of this settles down here.

I'm NOT even going to talk about the offer I got about taking some baby opossums in...

I honestly, honestly thought I was going to have a relaxing weekend all to myself but it went to the dogs - and fast!

That's ok. Tomorrow I'm going to the...*groan* ZOO to look at animals with my family.

The best part? When I left to take my friend a puppy my side mirror on the car hit some fencing I have leaned against my mailbox and the mirror fell off.

:faint:

You're such a trooper! I am so glad those little pups have someone like you to take good care of them (even if it wrecks all your other plans, I'm sure they appreciate your energy;))

BTW, Congrats on becoming your town's official go-to girl for animal support :biggrin2:!

Well, here at 7:30am I just got back from dropping the three pups off with a friend/neighbor. That family will be babysitting the puppies ALL DAY TODAY and I dont have to pick them up until tomorrow.

I am SO HAPPY!! because I've stressed since yesterday - how am I going to go out with family (I've only seen my neice three times since she was born in April) without starving the puppies to death?

They said they want the blue eyed female (her back is to the camera- she looks almost like the male but she's missing the patch around one eye) so I'm not sure if I'll be bringing her back home with me tomorrow or not...

I may not go to the zoo as planned today. We may be going to some type of Japanese festival in ST Louis at the Botanical Garden instead. I dunno - but I dont have to stress over coming home to dead puppies.

My neighbor watched the pups - fell in love with the blue eyed female and wants to keep her. While I was out she called a friend who wants the male that looks so much like the blue eyed female. They are ready to take the pups now so...

The male is going to his home today, the blue eyed girl is staying with my neighbor since she is keeping that one and she offered to keep and raise the white one along with her girl since she's a stay at home Mom and she said two is no different than one.

If everything goes right they all have been placed. The only one who isnt in it's home right now is the white baby girl but one is lined up already.

The black lab mix I had here (from the pound) went home this morning as well.
