So, I finally made it to the doctor today- I couldn't go yesterday as I already had an appointment elsewhere, and since I was going in already today (for a different but very traumatic procedure! :shock. I originally thought last week that I'd be better by today, but lol.... I'm not!

Anyway, the doctor was really shocked at how swollen my neck is. I have lost weight recently, especially around my face, but now I look like it's all gone back on, and some more, overnight lol.

She reckons I have Glandular Fever

I had to have a blood test just to confirm it, and just because it was my lucky morning, they couldn't get the blood out of the first arm, so had to do the other. So now I have matching plasters on both arms!

If it is Glandular Fever, there's no treatment, it's just 'nice to know' apparently..... lol....

I forgot to mention, that I've been having a random pain in my left side-ish area- top of my stomach on and off for the past few days as well. I thought it was just gas or something... Supposedly, that's possibly an inflamed spleen, which is symptom of glandular fever.... :?

I'd forgotten until I was talking to my mum earlier (after she dropped off some milk and tea bags bless her) that glandular fever is called Mono in the States....

I've spent all night with the aircon unit on facing me, and the breeze is really annoying, but as soon as I turned it off I was burning up again Poor Steve has been freezing...

Well keep us posted Jen! I really hope you feel better soon. You may want to take something for the fever like a tylenol. Usually that reduces fever, then instead of having the air conditioning try to swet it out. Swetting it out helps get rid of the germies. And drink stuff like crazy, mostly waters, juices and herbal non cafeinated teas.

Thanks Shannon! What's Tylenol? I don't think we have it here.... I'll look it up...

I feel like POO today. My mum took me and my brother to Bath, which is nearby, for lunch, but I only managed a few mouthfuls before I was too full. Then the thought of eating anymore just made me feel sick I've been ill a lot in my short life, but never ever have I lost my appetite! :?

When I was weighed yesterday at the doctors I've lost 16 pounds.... :shock: Although most of that is from before, and I can't remember the last time they weighed me there...

I'm just still burning up the whole time, I ache all over still and the pain in my abdomen is really not pleasant! Paracetomol is having no effect whatsoever....

Tyelnol is acceteminaphin. I may have spelt it wrong. It is in North America and used for pain relief and fever relief. I really like it as it works really well when I have a fever.

My tonsils are HUGE now :shock: It really hurts to swallow and I still don't want to eat anything.... I can't put my chin on my chest cos my neck is so swollen!

Oh you poor thing. I really wish that there was something that I could do to help. I feel horrible that you have to go through this. I wonder if Tylenol can be sent through the mail or will they stop it at the border? Better tell Steve (I think that is his name right?) to take good care of you! Lots of tea tea tea! Non cafeinated of course.
