the good news,

Ok so while I had a bad day monday, tuesday turned out not to be so bad.

Why? Because i received my final paper from the court house on tuesday. It seems that the paper work to finialize my name change went through on friday, and i received it tuesday !!!! WOOHOOO..

By the way my only steps were dropping off the org form at the court house,

current name, reason for name change etc.

fill out a quarry(not sure if that is correct spelling) to check to make sure i have no criminal record.

give them copy birth cert, and marriage cert. then wait..

I got my copy of cert. of name change i believe 2 weeks from date i requested.

now starts the "FUN" process, of changing it everywhere...:shock:but I am officially and legally Gabrielle Jordan now :DWen't to the social sucurity office today to request my new card. it should arrive in the next 2 weeks.

then after it arrives, i get to do my drivers licence.. then everything else from that point...

LET THE GAME BEGIN!!!! LOL

Good for you! I changed my last name after I got married, and the forms were pretty straightforward, as far as I remember. After I got my new ssn card (took 3-4 weeks), I then got a new license and changed my name with bank, credit card, etc.

After it was over, it wasn't a big deal. But before and during you think it's really hard and complicated because you've never done it.

i've been through the whole changing the last name for marriage, was easy, show them marriage cert. fille out paper work, get new SS card, then licence and ect.once you have those 3 items they just seem to automatically say, OK.. Also I had very few things in my name at the time, soI had it fairly easy.

Haha now I have a house, a car, etc.. trying to remember everything...And then places want to know "why did you change your name".. nosey places....

So i gave the credit card to full on answer They will prob be sorry they asked once they read it, as I have to submit it in writing.:p
