I'm so sorry I missed this :(. Fortunatley, it sounds like Latte is improving. I will keep him - and you all - in my thoughts.

How is he getting along with Drizzle now?

Jan
He's getting along ok with Drizzle. The vet wants them to not bond fora while, but they did snuggle in the car on the way to the vet and Dri zhas been laying in his own cage right up against where Latte is laying. It's like he knows Latte isn't feeling well. He gives him nose rubs through the cage once in a while too.

Thank you all for your prayers...they seem to be working. :)

Much love and joy to you and your families (including all your bunnies) on Christmas! :santawink::holidaycandle:

Update! Big step this morning! Latte is drinking out of his water bottle again! :happydance That's great because the little man thought it was hilarious to keep knocking over the waterbowl :disgust:. I let him out on the couch with me last night. He was playing with me, giving kisses, snuggling...and he stood up on his hind legs to look around and didn't fall over! I was so happy I almost cried. He even did some binkies!:brownbunnyLooks like :keeping fingers crossed and prayers coming: that he's on the mend! Yay for my baby!

Sorry I didn't update sooner. I was TERRIBLY ill on Friday. I think I had a sinus ailment, and along with a little too much "christmas cheer"while wrapping presents. But, I had a good time, until the next morning. Oy, I woke up dizzy and couldn't stand or sit up with out losing everything in my tummy. I couldn't even hold down water! I layed on the cou ch until my husband came home from work (thank goodness he got off early) and he brought me home Dramamine,Pebtobismal, and Ibuprofen. The Dramamine actually worked. But for a day, I think I knew EXACTLY what poor Latte feels with his equilibrium all messed up. I layed by him on the floor and snuggled with him and almost cried. :cry2

Yay, Latte! :bunnydance:

 that you both continue to feel better :hug2:

I think I might call the vet today about Driz. I don't know if I'm just being a nervous bunny mom, but his nose upstarted running again, and one ear is turned a little different than the other. I don't see anything in there, and I don't know if it's just laying funny because he's shedding, but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask.

Thanks for the hugs and prayers. I just left a message for the vet. Now, I just realized, Driz is shedding really bad. That could account for the runny nose and sneezing correct? Can that cause a slight change in ear position as well. His left ear seems to be turned differently or is hanging a tiny bit lower than normal. We'll see what the vet says. I have left over Trimet that's still good, but I'm wondering if he should just go on Baytril just in case it is the start of anything more serious. I mean, his head isn't tilted, he's acting normal. His ear is just different looking. I'll let everyone know what's going on when he calls.

EDIT: Now his right ear goes lower too and the left ear is up. I'm thinking it may be because he's just not feeling well. Does anyone elses bunnie's ears do that?
They are not dramatically lower or turned...just enough to notice that they look a little different. My husband doesn't even see it.

Update: Dr. Lox called around 5PM CST. He said to watch Driz for any other signs like colored discharge, excessive sneezing, etc. He said that the ear thing is most likely because he isn't feeling well, and if it was a start of an outer ear infection, it would be visible. I even checked inside his earw/ a flashlight and it's all clear. The sneezing could also be from the shedding. However, if I notice any other of the signs he told me about or a lack of appetite, then we'll start him on Baytril as well just to make sure to kill anything left from what he had before. He did say though that he thinks he'll be fine and would hate to starthim on an antibiotic unless this gets worse or is more persistant w/in the next 24-48 hours.

I hope he's okay! With an observant mom like you,at least we know any new symptoms will get treated quickly!
Thanks. I hope so too. Thanks for calling me 'observant'...I think my husband thinks I'm a hypochondriac! I think the buns are starting to think that too...sometimes they way they look at each other when I fuss over them everyday now (I check for lumps when I brush them, check their ears, check their eyes for goop, etc) it's almost as if they roll their eyes to each other! :rollseyes

Latte:brownbunny:"Oh man, mom's at it again! Can't she stopprodding me?"
Driz:bunny5: "Hey, get used to it...I've been here for 1.5 years and it only got worse!"
Latte:brownbunny: "Really? Huh, you would have thought mom would have been used to it by now..."
Driz:bunny5: "Nope thewoman hasgone into health overload :grunt grunt: Hey, since we're not bonded, maybe you could escape! (so I can get my play area back)"

Thanks again for the prayers and hugs...I've been needing them. Back at you guys! :hug2:

I also hope everyone will have a great happy and safe New Year!

I've already made a resolution for my buns: STAY HEALTHY! :wiggle

Well, I went out to go meet some friends w/ my husband last night. The buns are fine. My 20 year old sister, however, got into a car wreck and is in the hospital for the next 4 days and is going to need facial surgery. :(Can't a person catch a break?

When I came home, I think Driz knew I was sad because he was eating his carrot, he looked at me, put it down, ran over to me and gave me a kiss on the nose (then ran back to continue to eat the carrot :D). Latte was just as snuggly as could be.

Can you all add my sis to your prayer list? I know my list is growing, but I feel that it works so thank you. :hug2:

Oh. how awful. Your poor sister. I will definitely say a prayer for her . I hope 2007 is a much better year for you all.

How nice that Drizzle came to comfort his mom, especially when he had to leave his carrot!!!!

Question, can bunnies get white calcium in their urine? I had gotten Latte a mineral chew for Xmas like this:http://www.petco.com/Shop/Product.aspx?R=6513&Nav=1&N=0&Ntt=mineral+chew&sku=472093&familyID=100200&
And I'm wondering if it has calcium in it because his urine has had alot of white in it. I can see it clearly because I bought one of those things for yarn needle work (looks like cross stiching piece but is made of plastic) to go over his litter box so I could see if he was using the bathroom (for pooping). Well there is calcium in some of the squares. I'm wondering if it's not just the reg calcium from the urine that is getting stuck or if it's a lot of it. If it's a lot of it, what should I do? He does eat a lot of hay, but I don't think that's a bad thing. He's acting fine too. I don't know what I'm going to dow/ this bunny.

It is normal for rabbits to excrete calcium in their urine. I'd take away the mineral chew though. They don't need them, and some rabbits that chew them too much will have a lot more calcium in their urine because they're eating far more than they should.

Ok, thanks. Yeah, I took it away. I've only given it to him for 15 minutes at one time. Didn't want to let him eat it all at once. But I will just give him a chew stick for a while. :)
