Tenshi and my 6 month old cat have been living together for 3 months.(Tenshi has been with us for a year.) They havent had much of an issue being together, and Tenshi is comfortable when the cst is around his cage. Lately the two of them have had a few supervised out of cage encounters, and on Tenshi's part I was highly impressed. His past encounters with other rabbits were either aggressive or had him scared. He was perfectly calm around the cat, and didnt take much notice of him. Tenshi even hopped near the cat, who I had on a harness the whole time. Tenshi seems to have established his dominance from their past encounters where he chased the cat out of his 'territory',and doesnt think twice about turning his back on him.The cat himself is another issue. He sees Tenshi as a friend, but tries to pounce or bat at him.(in these cases, I stop him before Tenshi notices) he only does this when his back is turned, and is easily intimidated by Tenshi. In their recent meeting, the cat batted Tenshi in the face. Tenshi only perked his ears and leaned in toward the cat,but he did it so quickly I was afraid he would get aggressive, I separated them. I am unsure what to do. I would let Tenshi assert his dominance so the cat would learn not to touch him, but I dont want anyone to get clawed or bitten if the cat cant take a hint. I also dont want Tenshi to lose the confidence he has around the cat.

I have three cats and over ten rabbits. Tom one of my rabbits likes my eldest cat and will lay with her but he likes to play with her tail and she's a right boss they have gotten in a few tiffs but nothing serious. No blood or marks. Then my other cat, the youngest is terrified of the rabbits and has been chances when she tried to eat them. It was funny to watch as this buck wasn't chasing to fight but chasing for other reasons! Then I have two does that'll hurt the cats if they get the chance. My male cat doesn't give a hoot about them he'll sit by their cages stare in and that's about it, although he does bat them if he's in a bad mood or give a warning meow in their directions. Few of my bucks ignore it and try to have a little 'fun' because. They don't seem to care he's a cat. They've even chased my dog before and he's a massive dog. So in saying this you'l get a cat that can't stand rabbits or vice versa, you can try and get then bonded but if you have no luck give bun his own territory and lock him in it with child gates and make sure there isn't anything for kitty to jump over it with. I have put my cats in the play pen before just to tease them one cat figured out how to jump over it the other dug at the bottom. I shouldn't of don't it, I'm horrible but it was funny to watch, he lacks that smell bit that makes a cat smart. :D I let him out after five minutes.
