Keeping hay off the floor

I'm ot sure how vacuum cleaners work over there, but here my one has bags you replace every few weeks. They get full of hay, but nothing bad happens to the vacuum itself.

Mostly I try and stop the hay from getting everywhere to begin with, but that's easier said than done .

I pick up the bigger pieces by hand and then i use my dirt devil hand vacuum to pick up the hay and poop. It does clog up, however its super easy to clean out. So, its no big deal for me. This is the model i use:
