I'm trying to find a place where I can pick up a 5# bag of Zupreem.....but I'm having very little luck.

I even called Zupreem to see it they could tell me what stores they supplied it to, but none of the stores in my area buy it directly from them.
Most of Zupreem's clients are the distributors that provide to the retailers.

I can get a couple of the stores to order it for me, but I want to make sure the Buns will eat it....and that I'll have somewhere to get it whenever I need it.

Ordering on line is way to expensive because of the shipping charges.....$6.99 for the food...plus $11 shipping .....that's for 5 pounds.

On with the hunt!!!

PS:
This reminds me of my hunt for WoodyPet.

Did someone say WoodyPet?!? :p

You know Jim, if the stores carry Zupreem bird feed, then they shouldn't have trouble bringing in the Nature's Promise Rabbit Food. They seem to promote it where I live.

I went to the Pet Goods and asked the manager if they could order me a 5 lb bag to see if my bunnies will eat it.

She said "SURE!"

I told her that I go though at least 10 pounds a week, so I'd like to buy the 20 lb bags.... if the buns like it.

She's going to call me on Monday with prices.

Don't you just feel psychedwhen someone is willing to perform his/her job, and well, to boot! :D That's great news. At least now you'll likely be able to try it (and to continue using it, should it turn out to be a good fit for your bunnies).

I picked up the Zupreem's today.:p

As I posted before, the 10 lb bag was $12.99...;)

AND THERE WAS AN INSTANT " $5 OFF " STICKER/COUPON ON THE BAG !!!:biggrin2:.....total bill $8.90.

I haven't given the buns supper yet....I'll update later on that.

JimD have you ever used Oxbow? Does the Zupreem compare in ingredients? Now I don't even know if you can get that here in Canada.

My buns won't touch the Oxbow.
I've got the better part of a 5 lb bags sitting on the shelf. :(

Benji loves the Zupreem!! He wasn't interested in supper when served, but I put a few Zupreem pellets on his blankie and he ate them all up!

Let's hope the rest of the buns like it too.
It'll take a few days to tell for sure.

The Zupreem is a bit different than the Oxbow.
It's got more veggie content blended into the pellets...perhaps a little more organic?
No wheat or soy...High fiber, low protein.

Zupreem pellets are large compared to Oxbow. However Zupreem contains corn gluten meal and ground corn.

Zupreem min 14% crude protein to Oxbow min 14% crude protein

min 1% crude fat to min 1.5% crude fat

max 28% crude fiber to max 29% crude fiber

Susan, Zupreem is available in the Edmonton stores. They are heavily promoting Nature's Promise because it is a new product line.

That's one of the things that makes Zupreem an alternative choice.

Most other brands have added wheat products, soy products, and grain "by-products" (that can contain corn).
Zupreem claims that the wheat and soy products are resulting in many of the GI issues that some of our buns experience.

I also like the idea of a controlled amount of veggies being blended into the pellets...not added bits...they're actually included as an ingredient.
My buns get limited veggies, so this might be an added benefit. Only time will tell.

As with most things concerning rabbits...nothing is really straight forward...you have to research research research and then weigh the finding for yourself in most cases.

Zupreem must strongly believe in their ground corn and gluten meal because it isthe main ingredient after Timothy hay. Did you know that ground corn is the first ingredient in the Zupreem Bird Feed that I give to the bunnies as treats. They love to crunch down on the Large Parrot sized nuggets.

Perhaps mixing three different types of pellets (Oxbow, Martins and Zupreem) could be the best of both worlds for a bunnies diet.

Toostsie, Brindle, S'more, & MooShu are all eating the Zupreem pellets I've been sprinkling on their regular food.

Benji & Binkie don't care for them too much and have been leaving about half uneaten.

Rosie leaves 2 or 3 Zupreem pellets, just to let me know she's not totally crazy about them.

Chippy ate them the first night, but hasn't been eating them since. I think she'll be my biggest challenge to switch...she's the most finicky of the group.
