Rex is molting. Like all out,lets-blow-our-entire-coat-all-over-mom's-room molting. And completinghis new scruffy look are thin little patches in the lovely Rex fur onhis back and sides

. SoI've been brushing him every few hours for the past day or so (he won'tlet me brush too long, and afterwards he has to go to Peanut for a"touch-up" ;)). I could make a whole other rabbit out of the fur I'mgetting off him!

So tonight he gets to sit on my lap and endure some grooming while I watch 24 :p.

Makes ya wonder why, doesn't it? I meanhe should have his "winter" coat already if molting is seasonallydriven, don't you think? It is things like this that leavesme questioning this whole molting process and if there is anyregularity to it.

I am worried that bringing my buns in from the recent cold and snowmight trigger a molt because of the "shock" of being inside with warmerambient temperatures. Can't predicate my actions upon "whatifs," however, and will have to deal with issues as and when theyunfold.

Can you attribute his recent molt to any factor(s)?

Buck

Yeah, Buck, I thought that mild shedding at theend up summer was his winter coat too :?. But that's nothing comparedto what he's doing now...

Um...it has been unusually frigid outside. Consequently, I'veturned the heat up a little more and it has been warmer in my room. Butnot significantly so :?

Only other things are: more free-running time during the day, feedingtwo times (instead of once), and change in hay, but thoseshouldn't have any effect. Bunnies are sostrange...
