Ok...so every where I read it says how importantit is to be patient with your bunny. My bunny, Lola, is 3 months old.Ive had her for 3 weeks...almost a month. She is still shy sometimes. Idont spend alot of time at home but i play with her alot when i amthere..She also freaks out and runs when i try to grab her..I dont makeany sudden moves, and I've never hurt her or dropped her. Are bunniesnaturally nervous animals. What can i do to help her realizethat i am not out to get her...????

yer Buttons is jumpy at times when i make fastmoves or if i make a lound sound!! then hes scared then but the girlsare not they dont care lol!!

Turbo my 1 yr old mini lop is also a bitskiddish, when I open the door to her cage she scoots to the rear ofher cage and then will come up to the door and nudge me for some lovingand Buddy my 1 yr old mini lop sits patiently at the door waiting.

Hi Erika,

Time, patience, and.... oh yeah..... TREATS!!

Our bunnie MooShu is over a year old and she is still very skitish. Ithink some of it has to do with the events in her early life. She wasjust about 12 weeks old when we rescued her and her mommie from theshelter. Her mommie had her and then their owner passed away, so themommie and her kits were taken to the shelter. We rescued her and hermommie (S'more)a couple of weeks later.

S'more was about a year old and it took her several months to settledown. Even then she only comfortable letting me get close to her andnobody else.

MooShu still doesn't like to be handled or bothered too much. If I openher cage she will come out, but any movement toward her and she shootsback in. After a few minutes of coaxing, she'll allow me to pet her,but "don't pick me up, Daddy!!", so I don't. We wrap her up like abunnie-burrito when we need to clip nails or do a checkup and shetolorates that for a short time only. Runtime for her is being put downand running back to her cage.

So I should just be patients and stop freakingout. Thats good advice. I'll try harder for Lola to get to know mebetter...I also have another question. DO BUNNIES GET ALONG WITHFERRETS. MY BEST FRIEND HAS ONE AND I DONT KNOW IF WE CAN PUT THEM TOPLAY TOGETHER? THE FERRET IS A MALE AND MY BUNNY IS A FEMALE..CAN THATBE ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT??

IF you let them outtogether keep in mind Ferrets playrough nipping bitingtugging which all leads to tears andinfection , personally Iwouldnt let them play together UNLESS youknow the ferret wont hurt therabbit ,

Also keep in mind ferrets were once used thunt rabbit as they would go inthe rabbit hole and emerge fromthe same hole . somethingto keep in mind but JMO.

Sam canbe really shy sometimes. He will sit at the back of his bedroom andgrunt if i try to touch him...makes me feel so guilty....but he is onlya baby so i want him to get comfortable with me holding him. Mind u,sometimes he just sits there and lets me scoop himup .He does this weird staring thing sometimes....he just looks at me andslowly moves his head from side to side.....hope this isn't a bad thing!
