Now I know what you are thinking...."But this is Muppet! She is so darling".
Well let me tell you something, Muppet has been chewing up the house!
She strips the paint off the walls, digs holes in the carpet and has chewed all the corners and molding....We have had to tack blankets and towels over her current projects on the walls and in the corners. Today we ran out of blankets and now have a broom taped to the wall to cover the spot where she is currently peeling paint. Thats right! A BROOM TAPED TO THE WALL!!!!!!! I don't know why she does it or what to do...She is not interested in chew sticks or toys and the bitter apple spray is just added flavor to her projects....What can I do to save our condo????

P.S Fraggles is ripping the stuffing out of the new sofa.

Reuben's stopped stripping the wall paper now. There's nothing left for him to remove. I removed the carpet after he and Willoughby destroyed it, so it's just lino now; but he has started on the bed! :p tbh, I've lost so much to the rats, I don't really mind Reuben's destructiveness so much. Then again, I'm not the house owner!

Try tacking cardboard sheets, or coroplast sheets along the wall. I had cardboard for a bit, and that worked.

My place is decorated in 'early NIC'. I've got the panels everywhere. They work very well!

sas :bunnydance:
Me too! They line the walls, go around the entertainment center, around desks, etc. Don't forget the occasional baby gate thrown in for croud control. :p

Kiwi and Papaya are destroying my house as well! I tried taking the NIC cubes to the walls and somehow with their little teeth they still manage to get to the walls! I'm going to invest in some cloroplast!

A broom taped to the wall?!? That's hilarious! :roflmao:

Just tell everyone you're decorating for Halloween.

Of all the buns I've had, only one just occasionally tried to chew molding in one spot which I then just blocked off. Guess I've been lucky.

In the wooden upright edges of their cage, I once had to put those clear plastic corner strips -- that worked.

Coroplast-lined walls sounds like an appropriate solution. You could put it all the way to the floor, in front of the molding. Heck, you could even tack a chair rail at the top to hold it in place so it looks like it belongs there.

I have no idea how one can deal with carpet chewing...:?

O MY, O MY, O MY that is a lot of destructive behavior. I am lucky that my girls do not do that sort of thing (not that they have the chance).

id say get a play pen, or maybe even 2 and connect them together.

put down a tarp if u use the 2 playpens, or they make fitted covers that go under them, i know me and my girlfriend use a playpen with a fitted cover because our bunnies kept chewing up all of our phone chargers and lamp cords.. so now he gets playtime in backyard outside, or if hes in the house we use playpen or let him run around the bathroom while we shower... seems to be much safer, and more cost effective that way :]

edit: our buns are house bunnys, the baby has a harness leash that he seems to like, and ears our older destructive bun actually doesnt run away outside, he seems to like to stick by our sides... kinda funny

I'm not a fan of the fitted covers as they restrict how you can shape the playpen, cost a lot more than tarps and only work if you use one, which isn't much space - I've always preferred to connect two together. walmart sells some cheap tarps in the camping section, though (for a fraction of the cost of a fitted cover/bottom).

my bunnies are primarily house bunnies but, weather permitting, I like to set up a couple playpens in the front yard and let them run around for an hour or two - they love it outside, all the different sights/smells/sounds and ofc the fresh air.
