i have 2 rabbits whih live together and renently their going through 2 bottles of water in 24hrs, its really cold here at the moment so theres no way their drinking because their hot.

im worried because my last bun Lilli-Mai had to be put to sleep not so long ago due to her kidneys failing which was caused by E.cuniculi :(

would it be worth having them both blood tested? as this would show if there was a problem with the kidneys as it did with Lilli-Mai.

Also Crystal is getting another dental should i postpone this until shes blood tested?

or am i being well and truelly silly?

If there's any chance at all of a kidney issue, I'd have a blood test done before undergoing anesthetic.

Were all three rabbits living together? It's pretty unusual for two rabbits to have similar issues like that and it not be environmental, so it's probably nothing, but best to be safe and get tested, especially when there's surgery involved.

When did the big thirst kick in? What is their pee like?

sas :?

they didnt live with Lilli-Mai but did go in the same run (not together) but i know E.cuniuli is passed through wee so they were in ontat with it and were put on a 28 day course of panacur by the vet. Misty did show the same signs of E.cuniculi as Lilli-Mai did and is quite thin he isnt loosing weight but isnt gaining it ive been told this is normal for a rabbit with E.cuniculi.

as for the wee i know at least one of them has normal colored wee but its hard to tell when they live together and use the same litter trey :?

will book them both in for a blood test anyway better to be safe then sorry!

Although I am not an expert by any means and I would definitely get them checked for sure.....

Our horses drink more in the winter because with their hay - it keeps them warm from the inside out...... I wonder if bunnies are the same?
