Hi!

I’m a new bunny owner. I’ve done a LOT of research over a nearly a decade, and I finally got her when I felt ready enough to care for her as she needed.

I’m a VERY paranoid person. My two previous pets all died prematurely (one from unpreventable sickness and one from injuries she sustained before I got her) so I’m terrified something will happen to her.

She eats fine, drinks fine (though the amount she has from day to day varies a little too much for my liking), is very active and is surprisingly calm and not anxious. The only problem is that she sometimes just goes without pooping. It never lasts more than 10 hours, so I‘ve never taken her to the vet, but I’m starting to think I should.

She’s a little too young to be spayed, so I’m not sure if that would make a difference. Thank you for any help!

What does her poop look like, any irregular shape, size, or texture? Are there any changes that happen just prior to the not pooping, like being let out for the day, or put in a new area, or being fed a particular food, etc? Is she eating a pile of grass hay the size of her body, per day? Is she active in those 10 hours or mostly napping in that time?

You should go by what is normal for your bunny. Some bunnies will regularly have a 10 hour interval between pooping and it's not a problem. It's only when it's a change in behaviour you should worry.
