Hi varna !:wave2

Cabbage and kale are okay...as long as you give them to Lucy inmoderation (maybe once a week). I have read that theycan beharmful if given too much.

Have you tried Escarole? It's the only other thing beside romaine that MooShu will touch.

I usually buy a bag of romaine once a week for my buns. It's the only thing that they ALL will eat.

....looks like Lucy!!!!!>>>>:bunny19....even the ear!!!

i was told by my vet that the dark green leafyveggies her best so i started giving my bunnies cabbage nearly evy daywith the odd day of cauliflower, brocoile and green beans!

according to our resources both kale and cabbageshould be given sparingly at the most. Kale contains bothcalcium oxilates and goitrogens which can become toxic to bunnies overtime. I have heard that cabbage can cause gas in rabbits andread that too much of it can result in the enlargement of the thyroid.

From what I've read/heard/experienced, cabbageand kale are fine for buns, butit's bestto limit itto one leaf, and not every day. My buns get kale or cabbage when wehave it, about 2 times a week. If they get too much, it gives them gas.

I've never ever tried cabbage or kale, but I'veheard that kale can be toxic over time, so I just do my best to stayaway. As for cabbage, I read it can give them gas and my bunnies reallysensitive for gas(I have to watch how much broccoli I giveher). So, I don't use either.

Hi Varna!!! :bunnydance:

I haven't talked to you inforever!I've missedyou!

SebastianLOVES Kale, it'sprobably his veryfavorite and back when I usedtogive him a freshsalad every day, he had it everysingle day.

I don't give him fresh veggies much anymore. Mostly because I've determined that for his long hair, it's moreimportant that he browse more on the long strands of fresh hay that Igive him. I also read some research the Pam offered and did some on myown and I decided that the veggies were probably more of something thathe and I enjoyed than what were necessary in his diet.

I don't think there is anything wrongwith giving Lucy Kale. I bet she will love it!But as witheverything, I'd do it in moderation. Balance is always thekey!

Take care Varna and give Lucy a good ear rub for me!

The rule of thumb with greens is the darker thebetter. I try to stay away from things like cabbage as I've read it cancause them gas and pains. I've never fed Kale, I usually feed romainelettuce, broccoli, and the occasional carrot.

My vet recommended to give Iszy kale when her poops were runny. It should be safe. :)
