is 43 to old??

To have a baby? my mums 43 and I think she maybe pregnant, up the duff, a bun in the oven... I actually think she might be shes gained weight is alot grumpier and all that stuff, so what do you think?

My brother and his wife are expecting their first child. Stephanie turns...(I forget) either 39 or 40 this year.

Yea I guess its not old compared to that lady in her 60s who had twins. The thing that gets me well not gets me lol but if she did have one it would have a 20yr old brother a 18yr old brother and a 15yr old sister and we know a family whos got a 7yr old with siblings in their mid 20s and asshe around adults most of the time she seems really anti social with kids her own age prefering to sit with the adults than go play and when shes with kids shes really down on them like telling my cuz how kiddyish she is well she is a kid! lol, so i guess the thing that worries me is me and my brothers rather than a baby lol.

Nope! My mum had my little brother when she was 39, and I know she'd have another now if we didn't already have 5. :shock: I've threatened though, if she has another I will leave, she just love babies, I.. don't.

And a girl in my year, her mum just had a baby, she'd be about that age too.

You aren't even sure she's pregnant yet though, those symptoms could be any number of things.

Michaela is right - your not sure she is pregnantit could be A LOT of things. But if she is - no that is not too old at all. A lot of women today are waiting until their 40s to even have kids.

Stephanie is due on the 29th of this month... just FOUR days from now!

my grandmother was pregnant at the same time that my mom was at the age of 19 and her sister at the age of 20. My grandmother was 40 or 41 yrs old when she had her 7th child.

Gaining weight and grumpy could be a lot of things. One thing is as we age we fight our metabolism sometimes.

A lot of women are having babies in their 40's but..... After 35, the chances of down syndrome increase to like 35% or something like that..... it gets worse as the age is higher.

I'm grumpy, and gained weight (well I'm losing now) and I know darned well I'm not preggers... but I'm 44.

I wouldn't say its too old.

I have a twin sister (we're both 15 1/2)

My mom is55. She had us when she was 39. We have two older sisters, one is 30? The other is 36? And my brother is like 38 or 39. All with previous marriages, just same mother. I'm not exact on their ages, because I can never remember how old they are, lol. I know my brother just had his b-day in March, and he turned like 39 I think.
