Hi there. I'm new to this site, and am looking forward to speaking to other bunny-fans. I have 9 bunnies right now -- Ladybug, Violet, Blackie, Claire, Timmy, Coco, Marigold, Lily and Rachel. They are all rescued. Violet is my oldest, and is at least 7 years old. I keep trying not to adopt more bunnies, but people know that I take them if the situation is bad, so that's why I have to many. I do not breed them, though, so I'm trying my best to keep the numbers down. Thanks & looking forward to learning more on the site. Jill

Welcome to RO! We're so glad to have you.

9 Bunnies? Cool! That is so cool of you to adopt buns when homes are needed. Not many people are equipped to do that, good for you!

We'd love to see pictures too!:D

Welcome to the forum and thank you fortaking in those bunny's that need a home.:) This is a great web site and everyone here is very friendly. I look forward to seeing some pictures and hearing about your life as a bunny slave.

Thanks so much! It is just great to hear from you & thanks so much for the welcome! I'm planning on posting some pics very soon -- I'm just trying to figure out how. And I love the comment about being a bunny slave . . . hilarious. I am also a dog slave, chinchilla slave, and rat, hamster, hedgehog, and gerbil slave, since we've got 19 other pets in addition to the 9 bunnies. All this is lots of work, but so worth it!

I looked on the medical section of this site because I have a bunny with an abscess, and it was really helpful, thanks. It's funny what a close bond you develop with helping animals who are ill. I find that theycan really tell when you're helping them, even if you're having to do things that might be painful. My sick bunny is Ladybug, the former meat-bunny. I rescued her (along with 3 others) from a livestock auction. The conditions there were absolutely horrifying, but at least we saved 4 bunnies from becoming Easter dinner (no kidding, the auction was on Good Friday, sick). That was a few years ago, so at least the old girls could live out their final years in happiness -- there were all big love-bugs. I've lost all but Ladybug, now, but she seems strong, and has been sleeping every night on our ottoman, since it's nice & soft & I can keep her abscess clean that way.

Anyway, I'll look forward to speaking to you again, and in the meantime, again, thanks for the wonderful welcome!

Wow! What a life story for Ladybug and her friends now at the bridge. Can't wait to see pics and hear stories about your bunnies. All of mine came from shelters, and it is just so nice to see them finally open back up to people and trust them again, even though it can take a while!

Welcome to the forum! You'll fit in well since there's a bunch of rescue nuts here... even a bunch of the show breeders!

I'm sorry Ladybug is sick. If you need any advice or just want more support, just start a thread in the Infirmary. Also, if you put your location in your profile (doesn't have to be exact, just the state/province will help) we might be able to help you find local resources like good bunny vets. I really hope she gets better! I'm sure my bun Oberon is pulling for her. He was nearly snake meatand then nearly PTS at a shelter. Now he's just a spoiled, lazy beast who eats my Christmas tree.:biggrin2:
