Hi my name is Rebecca (and my boyfriend David). We are the "parents" to two guinea pigs: Barnaby Alec & Anouk Seraphine and we have a gorgeous mini lop rabbit named Willoughby Percival!

Hoping to learn more about rabbits and how to keep him amused, happy and not chewing my lounge!!

Here is my boy just chillin (hes older now by a month and is HUGE!)

Let me welcome you to Rabbits Online, my name is Dave and I am a moderator on the forum. So if I can be of any help please let me know. This is a terrific website for rabbits and their slaves, not only is it very active but also friendly. I am so glad you’re here and I know you will enjoy it.

Your bunny is beautiful, how old is he?

I’ve listed some links I thought you might find interesting:

*For reference the Library section

*To brag or tell everyone about the antics of your bunny or just to talk about your day here is where to start a Bunny Blog, you can also look back at it later and remember when you had a life before your bunny.

*Now all the bunny’s like talk to each other when we mere slaves aren’t around in the Bunny Chat is the spot to be.

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Here is a link to a website that will help you understand what your rabbit issaying to you, Rabbitspeak.

Now every forum has rules and ours can be found with this link Rabbits Online Forum Rules. This gives guidelines on what is acceptable, what is not and how we hope everyone will treat each other.

In your profile there is a place for location. There is no rule requiring you to list the city you live in, but if you can give a general region, country, state, what part of a state or country you live in is helpful. This will give others an idea and can offer more specific help if needed.

This the best site on the web for bunnies and I look forward to hearing stories and looking at pictures of your rabbit.

Hello & Welcome to RO. You will learn a lot from here..

Cute Bun! We love pictures :pinkelepht:

Hey! Welcome to RO. I just joined less than a month ago, and have enjoyed my time here, so far. Hopefully, you'll learn all the things you want to learn!

You have a gorgeous Rabbit..and your guinea pig is adorable, too! =)

LOL I have the same issue with Cinnamon!

When I first got 'him' at 8 weeks I was told he was a boy and didn't check to confirm since it didn't hugely matter to me and he was a 'first and only bun' at the time.

When we got to the vets to arrange vaccinations and alteration, Dr Walter offered to check for sure for me. Sure enough HE was a SHE! Unfortunately I've gotten used to saying 'he' and still catch myself out! LOL

Welcome to the forum! Your bunny is adorable! And your piggie is pretty cute too. ;)

I just want to make sure - the bunny and the piggie don't live together do they?

I tried to respond to your PM, but the forum said it couldn't find your username! So I'm not ignoring you, really!

yeah my buns and piggies live together quite happily. None of them are confined to the cage and there has never been any sqabbles. The rabbits have places the piggies can't get to if they get annoyed, and the rabbits spend heaps of time in the house.Oh and don't worry about the pm, we were getting a new rabbit and we loved some of your rabbits and were curious about the breed, we got Daphne who is a Dwarf lop :)

Welcome to RO!

Your bun is gorgeous (love a lop - their so sweet) and curious what type of pig is Barnaby? He looks like one I have at the shelter I work at that is bonded to a bun (same "cowlick" spot on her forhead?).. love pigs.

I think Barnaby is a white crested guinea pig :) We have another bun now named Daphne, and they are all hanging out in their cage having a little snooze together =D I like to think that Daphne made them a family lol

I'm not trying to be belligerent, but I really do think that you should re-think having your pigs live with your rabbits.

A guinea pig can easily be killed by a single kick from a rabbit's powerful back legs. This might not be caused by a squabble, but could just be the rabbit becoming startled by something and darting around - it does happen.

Guinea pigs require more vitamin C than rabbits, so I don't know if you're feeding them separately but if you're not then diet is an issue.

And probably most importantly, rabbits can carry a disease called bordatella, which can be fatal to guinea pigs. From your most recent post, I would assume that you have already introduced Daphne to the mix, and have not quarentined her after bringing her home.

If your rabbits are young, Daphne and Willoughby may fight when they get older, and the piggies may get in the middle of this. Daphne may also not be as accepting of the piggies when she gets older.

I really hope you'll consider housing your bunnies separately from your guinea pigs.

I think the gender fairy has hit us all. I had a dutch that I was told was a girl, even "her" papers said so. One day we weretrimming "her" nails and notice something in her privates that should be there. Being new to rabbits at the time, we thought it might be an abscess so my wife took "her" in. The vet looked and started to laugh and when my wife asked why the vet said "she" was a "he". Being a great vet and having gotten a good laugh he must have needed that day, he didn't charge for the visit.

Thanks delusional. I do keep a very close eye on them and the guinea pigs mainly stay in their cage and the rabbit in the house. The new cage that im getting them has two levels and more than likely the guinea pigs will have the bottom level and rabbits up the top with a ramp so they can get outside the cage.

We also have a seperate cage so any issues and we can seperate them straight away.

Dave, im really hoping that Daphne is not a boy! Lol, my boyfriend would die if we had more animals! 4 in our unit is enough!
