Hi all

I'm going to become the owner of a 6 month old rabbit on Monday. She's not been eating hay at all & I was wondering how I should introduce it? Should I just give her a small amount at first? Not sure if rabbits digestive system can cope with hay if they're not used to eating it?

Actually, grass hay is probably the only thing that you can give immediately to a rabbit in large quantities. There's no such thing as too much hay, even if they've never seen it before. And that's from my vet's advice.;)

And congrats on your new bunny!

I agree. When i bought Kahlua she had only been eating pellets and an ocassional carrot or piece of celery. I immediately gave her unlimited timothy hay and she took to it just fine. She eats alot of it now and never had any sort of tummy troubles at all.
