Hi all!!

So I have a 9 month year old male lionhead bunny (Ruby), and just got a female Netherland Dwarf bun ( Misty, two months) . I tried introducing them but Ruby tried doing what males bunnies do best, so I put Misty in a separate cage for now, and plan on getting Ruby neutered ASAP. Until then does anyone have any advice? ideas? So these two can get along or I have to wait until Ruby is neutered? :apollo:

You'll have to wait til he's neutered, and a month or two after for the hormones to be completely gone. Even at that young age, your female could still get pregnant, which could be fatal for such a young rabbit. Though you can't put them together yet, you could put them in cages right next to each other. This will give them a chance to get used to each other while you are waiting for the neuter.

it takes up to 6-8 weeks for a male to stop being fertile and for his hormones to be completely gone. by the time your male is no longer hormonal, your female's hormones will be kicking in. at that point, you'll need to get her spayed, wait about a month (takes less time for hormones to go bye-bye in females) and then you can work on bonding them together.

great sites on bonding:

I agree, keep them next to each other until you can do the spay and neuter. If you're trying to bond them, its recommended that both of them have it done. Good luck!
