Insecticides

I am having a problem with spiders and other little bugs coming into my house.

What can I do that will be safe for the rabbits? Their cages are all indoors and two are close to doors (where most of the bugs are coming in).

Would it be safe to spray around the outside of the doors?

If anyone has had issues with bugs, please help me! Please let me know how you handled it.

Maybe I should just move the cages for a day or two and spray outside the doors and windows. Would that work?

The spiders are Wolf spiders and not poisonous, but they are bold andoften climb in the rabbit cages and scare the life out of them and me!

as nasty and imbarassing as it is... we live in an old rickety house and we have roaches! we have had to spray the house THREE time this year.

we just moved the rabbits and there food,toys,bedding etc outside. and its just for two hours and the house is safe again. they can spray to kill the spiders and what not and you will just have to spend a couple of hours outside (with most chemicals they use anyway)

I am definitely going to try the tobacco thing. I've heard of doing that in the yard, too, to repel fleas and ticks. I think you can also add Listerine for additional effectiveness.

:thud....i hate spiders.

I was stationed at Wake Island when I was in the Coast Guard, and there were HUGE wolf spiders out there.....THAT COULD WALK ON WATER!!!!!:scared:

This is from a natural repellant listing...

"Tea Tree spider repellent. Every time the weather warms a little, I have a severe problem with the spiders coming inside. Yuk, I hate spiders! I put about 4 drops of Tea Tree Oil in water in a spray bottle and spray the air/floor vents, around the pipes under the sinks, the door thresholds, the cable wire entry and I haven't seen a spider in over a month! "

NOTE: I have no idea if it is safe to use around the bunnies, though. It might be harmful if they come in direct contact or ingest it.

I really hate to kill them, though I do sometimes (usually make hubby do it).

He killed a big, ugly one once and it was a mama spider carrying about a hundred of her young on her belly. You can't see them, so we had no idea.

It was horrible. They went scurrying everywhere.

I just want them to go away. I hate killing them.

Laura, I've heard of this thing you put in your house which makes a sound that only spiders can hear and they hate it! It's supposed to work well at keeping them away and no nasty insecticides!I have no idea what it's called though!:shock:

I'm afraidthat would bother the bunnies or the other critters.

Hmm, I'm not sure.:?My sister told me about them, one of her friends uses them in her house because she get tons of spiders! You might be right about it bothering the buns though.onder:

Here's the sort of thing. But while said to be "safe for pets", how they can repel rats, squirrels, etc. & not affect rabs i'm unclear (tho rabs are not rodents & their origins are unclear, i'd want an expert opinion on this & not an ad.)
