Hi, Our little Netherland Dwarf bunny seems to have hurt his front paw, out of the blue and we have no idea how it happened.

He is going to the vets tomorrow but the family are just concerned and was hoping for some advise? He is eating, drinking and pooping normally but is limping everywhere with the affected front paw tucked away at all times.

Hopefully we get some news tomorrow but it's really for my own sanity, feel terrible for him.

For how long has she been like this? (Hiding the paw)
When one of mine hurt one of his paws just a bit it was like half a day for her to "get back to normal".

From that photo, the paw does look like it's probably broken. If so, in the very least it will need splinting for the next 1-2 months and your rabbit on pain meds. Until he is seen by your vet tomorrow, I would suggest to keep him confined to his cage so he doesn't further aggrevate the injury. As long as he continues to eat and drink enough, that should hold him over until he is seen by the vet tomorrow.

If you don't already have an experienced rabbit vet to take your rabbit to, here's a list in case you need it.

Thanks everyone for your concern and advise! Unfortunately I'm in Scotland but the breeder we got him from has been amazing! She is going to take him to her vet who's books are closed and a very good one at that.

He's been like that since yesterday afternoon and we have no idea how it happened. When I took him to the breeder today, she did say she felt it was a dislocation and not a break but we'll find out today! Just so sad looking at his empty cage last night but hopefully some good news today. I will keep you all updated!

Just an Update for everyone. Vet feels it is maybe a pulled ligament. No broken bones and no dislocation. He has started to slowly but surely use the paw again so really delighted everything is ok! Just to limit his exercise to allow him to heal. Thanks for everyone's concern!
